South at Grenelefe Golf & Tennis Resort

I believe the previous reviews came from people who either live around the course or have never played a quality golf course. One theory is they write great reviews so others will come and spend money here expecting a decent golf experience.

The tee boxes and many other areas are chewed up by wild pigs. Any sand bunker is full of weeds. There is a rake on your cart, but a weed eater is needed. That was ridiculous. The fairways are crab grass and the rough is where they don’t mow, which is many areas that should be. The greens were just barely fair. Many have spots and areas that they couldn’t put a pin.

Moral of this review: Do NOT believe the previous reviews! They are fake news. Go somewhere else and enjoy your round of golf on a nice course.

Course was more weeds than grass. Clubhouse is non existent. Greens were inconsistent and slow and not all in good condition. Bunkers were horrible and this is definately a course I would not play again.

First time playing the South course, have played the East before years ago. Greens and fairways were in good shape. The greens are on the slow side, but they look and roll consistent. Bring plenty of drinks / snacks as this course does not come back to the clubhouse till the 18th hole. No beverage cart or water coolers on the course. Layout has a variety of challenging holes that make this course fun to play. For $30 it is a great value and would play again.

Second time playing this course and a blast to play. In its day this must have been a beautiful course. It’s mature now and maybe not up to the once PGA qualifying course look but what a great layout and a lot of fun to play!

Fairways were fine, greens were surprisingly in good condition just slow compared to a really nice course. There is no true rough its just weeds and the bunkers are terrible.

Course layout on south is really fun.

I play this course every time I come to the area. Course is always in great shape and a blast to play! Pull into the parking lot and “puff” a cart appears and a young man with a big smile puts my clubs are on the cart. Everyone inside is just as friendly and helpful. The starter is always helpful and insightful as to the pin placement and what the pace of play. I can’t wait to play it again!

I have been golfing here now for several years in the winter months. Each year the coursers are getting better. However this year with the new Golf Pro has shown the most improvements yet. Keep up the good work.

First time playing this course. Overall I enjoyed playing this course (South Course). Nice layout with a good mix of challenging holes and easier, less stressful holes. Landscaping is very mature and provides a lush feel to the course. Greens were good and generally putted true. Greens were a bit slow but very good for this price level course. I would recommend this as a good value for the money!
