Reasonable Play for the Low Price
Course was in reasonably good condition. Fairways were green and cut. Rough was a bit shabby and could use a cutting. Greens were in good condition and rolled fairly true. They were a little on the slow side. Not much activity so pace of play was really good. Wife and I got a hot deal for only $19.00 plus booking fee. So the course was a really good deal for that price. If you are looking for a course that's lush and picturesque, go somewhere else cause this isn't it. If you want a fair course for a reasonably good price, this isn't a bad deal.
Fun course with some challenging water holes
Played course yesterday and greens and fairways are in better shape than most mid-priced golf
courses. Rough and traps need help, but the object is to stay on the fairways. Greens are slow but roll true. What looks like a big break isn't. Holes 7,8,9 and 10 offer some watery challenges.
I will go back
Play weekly. The South Course, which recently opened, is in great shape. Greens are slow and roughs are high due to recent over-seeding. These should be taken care of shortly, once the over-seeding takes root.
East Course is somewhat spotty, which should be expected considering it get used continuously all year. Greens are faster than the South.
All in all, for the price paid to play, it's a good value..
Remembering the past.
It was very sad for me reading the reviews. Let me tell you about the past of this course as I can remember. They jad 3 courses WEST, EAST & SOUTH. The West course was the course they used for the PGA Tour finals Qualify School. What happened to that course if anyone knows???? I played there on vacation for several years the last being I believe 1982. They opened the South course that year and I got to play golf with the touring pro at that time Andy Bean and also got to meet David Leadbetter who's school was there at the time also. I'll never forget it as it was a special place during that time. People of Greneleaf try to bring that special place back.
better than last year
Have played every year for the past seven yrs the greens were better the tees are still poor but the course allways wins in the end we wiil be back
Good
We were playing behind a small tournament, starter held us back 5 minutes, we never saw them again. It took us just under 4 hours.
Had a beer in the lounge after, very enjoyable the bar lady gave us some pop corn.while watching the masters on TV.
Great layout
Needs a little more work on rough and bunkers
But overall well worth the fee.
Course
Fairways need work. I did not know you do not pass the clubhouse between the front and back nine. I liked the layout otherwise, challenging in many ways.
Nice Time
A good day, Got in the middle of the Friday game bot played right along. Gree s rolled nicely.
Greens were decent, but very slow and grainy. Tee boxed were horrible and looked like they hadn't been cut in a week. Bunkers looked like they haven't been raked in months.
Great Course
The south course is in very good shape. Need work on the sand traps. Most traps around the green you can put out of.
