Fun course
Many holes are challenging and some not. Great layout. The Reserve is a real classy place.
Terrific
Great conditions, amazing views, well conceived track and a great value. Highly recommended!
Excellent shape,challenging....Views spectacular
Staff friendly and accommodating. The couse was in excellent condition. Course friendly to accurate shots. Green not fast...undulation hard to read for person's first time on course.I would definitely play this course again. Great venue!
The course is in great shape. Play was fast. There are many interesting holes.
Even though we had not played the course, we were able to play at a good pace. Everything was in great condition. There were so many interesting holes, it is not clear which is the signature hole! We will definitely be back!
Great course, challenging...must be accurate!
Great...greens were slow due to overseeding this time of year
Good variety of holes. Over-seeded conditions but that will change.
Well, we played slower than usual because it was cart paths only, but the course was relatively open after teeing off at 12:51 and having the group ahead of us let us play through. The course is so open in its layout that we never saw the groups behind us.
I like this course because it has a great variety of holes, and not a lot of homes lining the course. The back nine has great views of the mountains and desert.
The greens were really slow because of the over-seeded conditions but I have played this course when the greens are just perfect for speed.
This course is at the top of my list.
The abundance of Nature alone is spectacular and the course is grand.
Course was over seeded, yet well maintained
My round was the first one since arriving from Germany. A huge difference in concept. The course itself was over seeded yet otherwise well maintained. The greens was very slow which caused some difficulty and not a lot of "touch" was required. All in all, a nice course and one I would return to.
Well maintained
Fairways are nice and well kept, greens are slow, in great shape.
The best
The best value in the Tucson area. Spectacular views, well maintained fairways and greens, and a challenging layout. You couldn't ask for more for under $50.00.
Beautiful golf course.
This is a beautiful layout. The mountains and valleys of this course make it a true challange for all. Every level of golfer would enjoy this course. I know overseeding is a must in the fall but the greens were terribly slow. They were is good shape as well as the course just extreamly slow. I would love to return here when the greens were cut and faster.
It was cart path only, which extended the time to play.

Beautiful holes that challenge your skill.
You can't beat this course for its beauty. Dramatic par 3's and other holes that melt into the desert landscape and ravines. It was a bit exhausting to play with cart path only rules, but still enjoyed this course.
Nice Course - Great Scenery - Well Designed for general play
Just finishing over seeding - not noted on GolfNow.Com until reservation paid. Despite this, course was in good shape. Lots of wildlife and magnificent views. Generous fairways, lots of traps and large greens with lots of movement. Only temporary issue was that the greens were very slow. A little bit of a drive from Tucson, but the views and the course are worth the trip. Snack bar was closed. Pro Shop was well stocked with nice gear.
Good but greens still slow and bumpy
The Preserve is a great course with a very solid layout and everything a mountain desert course should be. However, due to this time if year (over seeding) the greens are really slow and bumpy. Still if you can get a good price it is a very worthwhile play as most courses have similar green issues.
Very scenic golf course in a wild area
Beautiful sunny day ; light was perfect
golf course is scenic
greens were perfect
panoramic view from 19 hole with good food
Great
Great variety
Very chAllenging. Some forced carries. Up and downhill holes If greens has been cut course would have rated excellent
A must play course in Southern Arizona
Where to start with this amazing course?
For starters, you're playing in the northwest foothills of the Santa Catalina mountain range so your scenic views are amazing!
The course is very well maintained and always in pretty darn good shape. Just last year they shut the course down for the summer to redo most, if not all, of the bunkers and it seemed to be a good decision. They improved the drainage and replaced the horrible desert rocky sand with the "real stuff" that bunkers SHOULD have in them.
My only very small complaint with this course is with the greens. This time when I played there was some dead spotting on a few of the greens. Overall I wish they would be a little smoother with a little more speed to them. In golf, faster greens always roll smoother and true and that's the only thing this course is missing.
So make the drive up to Saddle Brooke and experience what I would call a southern Arizona "hidden gem".
*** Side Note: I've played this course well over 20 times in just 3 years, the only reason I don't play it more is the 70 minute drive from SE corner of Tucson***
Great condition, awesome pace of play, as always.
Best value in Tucson, bar none. Make the drive, it is well worth it.
Challenging but enjoyable course with beautiful views
Course design requires accurate shots but is in good condition except for the first green. The greens were apparently aerated recently so they are a bit rough at present, although they still seemed to roll true if a bit slower than usual. A very nice bar in the clubhouse for a cold beer after the round.
I agree best value in town
