Golfer Reviews
Its a Challenge!
The Preserve is a little tough to find but when you do you need your "A" game. Playing this course requires you to use course management on almost every swing. 80% of shots in the fairway are at an uneven lie. It is a challenge but well worth it for the golfer who enjoys testing their self.
This is one of the best tracks in southern Arizona. It has varied terrain, great greens and well maintained fairways.
I would rate this one of the top ten courses in the Tucson area.
It's right next to the mountains the views and terrain are remarkable. Conditioning was above average, the greens are some of the best in Tucson. The pace of play was good, we played in around 3 and 1/2 hours. By the end of the round we had pretty much hit every club in the bag. There are 2 working ice machines on the course and afterward the restaurant is a must stop. It has large picture windows and a beautiful veranda overlooking the Catalinas and golf course. This would be a great place to come just to have dinner!
Better than Bighorn
This course reminds of Bighorn in Palm Desert--only more scenic and fun to play (and a lot cheaper). Bring your A game though (or a lot of balls). It takes a few rounds to learn all the places not to hit it. But very fair. Even if it beats you to death you'll enjoy the scenery. I'm a 14 and my wife is a 32 and she loves it too.
One of my favorite courses.
Well maintained, spectacular views. Fast fairways and true greens.
Tough
Windy day makes this course a challange.. And its always windy
This course has really gone downhill!!!!!
I have played this course in the past and loved it! We were not happy this time at all. The course has been cut way too short and no water put to the fairways. Upon arrival I could see right away it was not in good shape like in the past. We drove over an hour to come play The Preserve, this will not happen again, unless we hear of improvements.
Great Views
A little extra drive is well worth it! Challenging and fun course!
Wow
This course is a little far but it is well worth the travel. Almost every hole you have great views of the local mountain range near by. Elevation change on almost every hole is nice to see as well. Really impressed and will return.
Outstanding. Some of the best views in souther Az.
Course is great. Views outstanding. Staff is very nice. If they could only get the pace of play picked up a little.
Nice course.
Like the course. In good shape. The quantity of practice balls you get for your dollar is chintzy. 2 buckets looks like one.
Beautiful Setting
Very entertaining course with fun topography. Greens were a bit slow the day and time we played - late afternoon. Nice flora and fauna (including some foraging cows and calves - I've never seen this before on a course).
Spectacular Mountain Views
Nice course with many elevation changes. Several choices for teeing off diistances
Excellent
This course is excellent with spectacular views of the Catalina Mountains. It is challenging for the average golfer but worth it because of its location. The Preserve was in very good shape when we played it on May 10.
stunning views, interesting holes, very challenging
As many before me mentioned, stunning views. One of the most beautiful settings for a course I've ever played at. Very challenging course. If you hit off to one side or another you can get in a lot of trouble. The greens were in very good shape. The bunkers were also in very good shape. The fairways are starting to dry out just a little bit. My first time golfing here. I will most definitely be back.
Incredible views
The setting is beautiful with the Catalina mountains all around you. No houses lining the fairways like many of these developments. Many picturesque holes with elevation changes. Challenging course but fair. Good condition, not like your PGA courses but very playable. I really like the layout, # 10 a tough par 5, toughest hole on the course to 3 out the 4 in our group. Will definately play again and bring guests when they come into town. Worth the money.
Worth the drive, absolutely beautiful!!
If you have the time, MAKE THE DRIVE!! It's definitely worth it. GREAT value.
Greens rolled true, fairways in great shape. Incredible views. My only complaint as always is they never tell you there is no cart service prior to leaving clubhouse.
If you drive the ball 250+ you may want to consider playing back tees, lots of trouble from gold.
Loved it and I'll be back this summer!!
Nice course for the value, great views.
Pace of play was extremely slow! Staff was old and unfriendly. The price was right to give it a shot and the course had a great layout. Beautiful mountain views!
One of the prettiest settings in Tucson.
The course has always been a great value. It's a desert course but the fairways are usually wide enough to not be penalizing. One of our favorite courses in Tucson.
My wife and I enjoyed our round very much and will return.
We enjoyed the course layout which we found to be in very good condition. The greens were very true and well maintained. We were joined by a very friendly couple who knew the course and helped with the courses' features. We will be back.
