Rose Bowl View
I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the greens here. They rolled true, and despite a ton of play, they were in very good shape. The Teeboxes and fairways and rough were as expected for a public course that gets a ton of play. Some crab grass, and lots of bare spots. But overall I’d say the course was at times somewhat challenging, and fun. Good value for the money.
Most of the holes are straightahead, a few trees and bunkers in the middle, and pretty plain and flat. They did have some very challenging par fours, and they sprinkled in a couple of 300 yarder‘s. Staff was very friendly, and I didn’t try any food or anything like that. Overall a good experience.
Great course in the summer
The Koiner track is great, just don’t play in the fall during football season. Greens were fast, pace of play was quick and course was in decent condition.
Long course
Great conditions and pace. Really long and challenging course when you play from the back tees but there are several tee options
Good course overall. The green are amazing
Great for practicing your game. The fairways are in good shape . The greens are in top shape. The pace is slow because the majority of the golfers think they can play from the back tees. Maybe one out of each foursome has the consistency to get the ball down the fairway with a reasonable approach shot. The group I front of us had no business hitting from the blue. White or red would have made ther round faster.
Playing Brookside #1 Was Like Visiting An Old Friend
I hadn't played Brookside #1 in many years. I loved it then and still love it. Great layout with very good green and fairway conditions. I hadn't played off Kikuyu grass (I'm in AZ where everything is Bermuda and all its varieties) and forgot how grabby it is. Good job Pasadena. I'll be back again. Highly recommend the course.
Golf at Brookside #1
The course was very nice condition, and the flow of. pace was in pace with the time we had to go by . The staff were very nice and we were paired with a good group. The greens were in good shape except that some golfers don 't fix the digits. Had a good round .
Sand Traps
PLEASE, add sand back into the bunkers. They're an important part of our playing experience.
