Brookside Golf Club - E.O. Nay Course

We played in a good pace until 8th hole. At 9th hole, the party in front of us might switch with the party in front of them. Pace of the play was the problem? I don’t know. But since then, we found the new party in front of us was slow players and at 13th hole, we found they are two holes behind. I should have talk to them about the pace of their play, but they were four big guys and didn’t want to have any trouble so I called the course to send the marshal. Nothing happened until 18th hole and some people played behind us gave up to play and went home. 5 over hour play is not happy.

It's been nearly 10 years since I last played here. And sadly, the reviews of this course having terrible conditions are true. This course has been severely neglected and it shows. from the bumpy hard fairways to huge swaths of fairway that is not just dirt. I won't be playing here again any time soon.

I’m a member of the Brookside men’s club and brought a friend out to play course two today. Considering that we just had rain and we’re close to the Rose Bowl. I didn’t expect great things about the conditions but today was pretty bad. The tea boxes were all overgrown, so it felt like you were teeing off out of the rough and all of the fairways were overgrown so even when you hit a ball in the fairway, it didn’t go anywhere. The greens were very hard and since you were hitting longer shots into them, it was really hard to navigate. I am a three index, and so the conditions were tough for me, but impossible for a double digit Handicap. It would be wise to set up the course differently when the conditions are bad to benefit everybody especially when you’re charging $70 around.

Fairways could be in better shape and do all the greens have to be extremely small and sloped from back to front? If you're not below the cup you're likely to roll off and 3 put. A few greens like this okay but every one? If you're not scratch play elsewhere.

The fairways were extremely dry.There was equipment parked randomly all over the course.Too many large dirt sections, many were at least 40' x 40'. Very little signage for players to determine what/if PGA rules applied.

Worst golf course i have ever played on. Apparently, they use the fairways as a parking lot for the rose bowl on some evenings and it shows. 1st hole you hit right into a dirt path, the rest of the course has dirt patches all over the fairways, its like hitting off concrete, honestly. And they charged $82. Crap. Go anywhere else except here.

The condition of the course was horrible. I’ve NEVER seen it this bad. The grass was in poor shape. Dried out and too much damage from parked cars. Balls landing in the fairway were sitting in dirt. Rose Bowl events are killing this course. The course will start looking like Victoria Golf Course soon. Now the FUCLA football season is approaching soon. Do the owners of the course have no pride in the conditions of their course. Prioritizing parking from these events over golf course conditions makes the city look greedy . It’s a golf course, not a parking lot.

Greens are hilariously slow, likely never rolled.

The fairways are in REALLY rough shape. The first hole is literally 50% dirt with no grass.
