Yes, it gets busy, even "crowded"... so if you are one of those impatient golfers who has to rush rush rush and take the "pace of play" pledge maybe a little too seriously and furiously, then this is not your course and frankly we'd rather have you stay away anyway. But if you can understand that the course is full and contains players of all levels, then it's cool... staff was businesslike, course is nice, location is world-class... hey, what's not to like?

Great local course. Deals on zing and now make it worth it. There are times when it can be crowded, but it can be planned around.

36 holes. What's not to like?

Nice course to play golf : a bit fast green and various lay out halls. ( #.1 course )

And the length of halls are a bit longer and challenging if you compare to any other muni courses.

Above all, this course is a quite fun to play.
To me, that's enough.

Wife and I played it-beautiful evening play. Ignore all negative comments here (can't please everyone and tons of a-holes where you find money, so grain of salt in the details). Lots of surprises, fun, medium-level skill needed. Just a lovely local course. If it's busy, it's busy for a reason! You want fast? Take up pamphlet-reading.
Just fun all around and very nice/helpful staff.

Happened to catch this place at perfect time. Two of us were able to finish #2 course in 3 1/2 hrs. Excellent value for a local course. I read many reviews pointing out the fact that the pace of play is on the slow side but if you live in LA, you have to anticipate this. For someone who insists on 3 hr round everytime needs to look elsewhere and pay twice as much. I found the staff at this place to be always friendly and professional. I left many things in the cart by mistake and never lost a single item here. The system works here for me. HAPPY :)

Paid for 18 but quit after 9. Took 3 hours to play 9 holes. American Golf once again proved that all they care about is making money. Course was way overbooked.

Great Golf course. But very busy. be prepared to wait 5-10 minutes between each shot.

I played on a sunday right after an event took place at the Rose Bowl the evening before. My tee time was 5:40 am. I ended up joining a threesome and was shocked that we found ourselves waiting for groups ahead (at 5:40am!!). The course turned into an obstacle course with lights powered by generators lined up along most fairways, as this course is used as a parking lot during Rose Bowl events. LAME! If I would have been informed about the course conditions prior to my round, I would have declined to play. Greens were slow and wet and no better later when dry. It took us 4:25 hrs to finish which at that time of the day should only be 3.5 hrs. Less than average on the overall experience.

When my wife and I first arrived it seemed fairly busy and although we had a mid-morning tee time the course was already out of golf carts, although they were being returned every few minutes. Once on the course the pace was somewhat slow but we still finished our round in under 5-hours on a Saturday. Course was unexpectedly very green and well cared for. The fairways are average width to where only the beginner's slice is an issue, and we heard a lot of warning shots around us. We had a good round and would come back.

Everything was OK but pace of play was terrible and made me sick and crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!
Play finished over 6 hours for 18 holes. Oh my Goodness!!!
I won't go there to play in the future. NEVER!!!

Saturday, 11:00 am, put in a 5-some, 5 hours, 50 minutes.

The course is very tight so you have to be careful not to hit into golfers entering your fairway due to errant shots. It gets a heavy volume of play but the condition of the course, especially the greens, was very good.

brookside has always one of my faves brcause of the staff, they will let u tee-off earlier than ur tee time as long as the tee box is open.
course is in decent condition.

I have played brookside a few times and will never be returning. They cannot figure out the pace of play which is compounded by allowing 5-sums on the course. Their halfway house is closed during lunch hours for "break time" of the line attendant. After okay there 3 out of 5 days, I was informed that my soon to be 6 year old is not allowed on the course due to his age, however he hits the balls better and keeps the pace of play moving better than the majority of adults on the course. The assistant general manager was unprofessional in the handling of the matter too.

The location is great, the prices are fair, but it is clear that only the dollar matters to them. I wouldn't recommend going there if you don't have too. Very unsatisfactory.

If you want to play a quality course that could be not too difficult to walk. This is a great one.
Beautiful course with relatively flat walking or riding. Greens are challenging as are the placement fairways. A good deal formthe buck.

Always enjoy this course. Starter go us out in no time.

Nice course. But sometime very slow. Because this course is 5some course.

Fun course and the starter Phil was awesome very helpful and even gave me some tips to shave off a few strokes
