Eagle Eye Golf Club
About
Located near Michigan’s capital city of Lansing and minutes from Michigan State University’s campus, Eagle Eye Golf Club is one of the state’s top-ranked public courses. The 18-hole championship course opened in 2003 and was designed by Chris Lutzke, a protégé of legendary architect Pete Dye. Lutzke’s design features some Dye staples like railroad ties, severe mounding and pot bunkers. But the most recognizable homage to Dye is the TPC Sawgrass-inspired island-green 17th hole. The 9th and 18th holes are both dramatic par 5s that hug each side of a large pond from tee to green. Eagle Eye has a 65,000-square-foot clubhouse that, in addition to a pro shop and grill with outdoor seating overlooking the course, can host a variety of large groups, outings and weddings. Over the years, Eagle Eye has regularly made the Golfers’ Choice Michigan an Top 50 United States lists on GolfPass.

Fun Course
Best course in mid Michigan. Not in class with 2 of the best courses in state - Arcadia or Forest Dunes, but it is $100 less than those two. Fairways are pretty generous on most holes. Par 3's are all pretty challenging especially 2 and 17 (island green). Hardly any trees on course. Greens are reasonable and roll true. Only problem is pace of play when course is busy. Course is costlier than Hawk Hollow across the street, but do yourself a favor and pay the extra $ to play this one if you have a choice.
Eagle Eye very memorable course it is!
Eagle eye was one of the best courses I've played. My hdcp 3.8 and the course gave me a beat down to remember. I made 1 eagle 2 birdies and every thing else up to quintuplet. I can't wait for a rematch!
Come play one of the best courses in Michigan......
Looking forward to playing it again.....Worth the dive.
Challenging and conditions are great.
Great time
We knew this course was more difficult then what we're used to but it was fun !!! The course is nestled in nature and taken care of very well. The only negative aspect we had was that the greens had recently been aerated and made putting even tougher.. I plan to play it again in the spring when the greens are in better shape..
Must play.
Tough, scenic layout in beautiful condition. Bunkers, water and heather everywhere. That said, landing zones where driver is required are very fair. Staff was great and played in just under 4 hours. Can't expect anything more. 5 stars across the board.
Can see how it could get slow if golfers ahead of you are struggling with as much trouble as this course has to contend with.
awesome all the way around
To start the staff was very friendly and the ranger told me everything I needed to know. It was my first time there and it was spectacular. The greens were great and the course is beautiful. Cant wait to go back.
Great conditions and fun to play
food service very slow. 30 minutes for a turkey sandwich turkey was frozen, I learned.
Eagle eye Best of the best
This course is one tough track, but the overall beauty and attention to detail is unbelievable. Barely any trees, Alot of water and sand, and some amazing golf course views await you! For just over 50 bucks, you can enjoy one of the best courses in Michigan.
Awesome
Not much to stay that has not already been said. I am a high handicap and found it very enjoyable to play not to difficult for my level but challenging. Was playing in a four man scramble so pace of play was longer than normal.
Golf now bargain
Course was in great shape, very nice links still course. Fairly open driving, with challenging approaches to bunker surronded greens. It was fun and a bargain when we applied the great golf now price we got for a twosome for 18 and a cart!
Beautiful and well maintained course
This is a beautiful and challenging course with an abundance of bunkers and some narrow fairways near the greens. There are plenty of water hazards to make it interesting and few trees. Staff is very nice but we felt that the course was not worth the extra money compared to Hawk Hollow. I also would have thought for the price there would have been GPS and ball washers on the carts.
Links Beauty, Links Tough
Couple friends from Seattle in and picked Lansing area on our annual Michigan golfing sojourn, a very formidable adventure, coupled with an awesome $25 warm-up round Friday twilight @ The Emerald. Welcome hospitality at both courses happily received.
Beautific vistas abounded throughout Eagle Eye's groomed golfing landscape. A tad pricey, but we left feeling we got our money's worth from the States Capital and.....smiling!
What a Gem of a course
Eagle Eye has to be one of the nicest courses I've ever had the chance to play on. Everything from clubhouse, to practice facilities, and from tee-to-greens is in excellent condition. Very well managed pace of play, never had any issues with waiting around to hit or getting stuck behind slower groups. This course has a way of making you feel like a pro, without venturing far from home. Each time a tee-shot hits a fairway, or that approach sticks on the green, is a reason to smile when playing here. This course offers a lot of rewards for smart, accurate play, and a lot of "not over there!" when straying from the fairways. The infamous island green will leave you in awe and is the most rewarding hole to hit a solid shot to the green on. Whether not having your best day, or having the greatest round of the year, there is no better place to do it, than Eagle Eye. I played early in the season (April) and the course was well ahead of other courses in the area as far as condition. I couldn't resist going back so booked a tee time to return in May and the staff/grounds-keepers actually had managed to get the links in better condition. Greens are fast and have some hidden breaks, fairways are cut tight, and rough is in a class of its own here. Many bunkers here with a good amount of water hazards. I recommend this to anyone who wants a great visual from each tee block, and a course that will spark a lot of conversation weeks after the round has been in the books.
Great design good test.
Course is a great test of golf without having to travel far from the city. It is a must for the better players. Be sure to play the tees for your handicap, witnessed a few players who could not handle the yellow tees they played, they should have suggested they play the white or blue tees. After loss of a dozen balls I am sure they did not enjoy their 5 hours on the course.
Slow play for a Friday morning
Course was in fantastic shape, greens rolled fast and true. Pace was a serious issue. Waited on every shot. Talked to ranger and he said "10 minutes behind" when we were a full 50
Great course
Here visiting from California and this was as nice a course as any country club that I have played out there. I'll be back in the future.
worth it
The course live's up to its billing as one of the best in the state. Beautiful views, challenging, a wide variety of holes. It was expensive but I thought it was worth it. I'll be back.
Eagle eye
Been playing golf for 20 years, easily top 5 course of all time.
Walk through the flower gardens
The waste areas and trails between holes are lined with wild flowers giving off the sweet scent of honeysuckle Extra attention was given to the visual aspects of each hole, contures of greens and bunkers lend to the view .
