Lakeside Golf Course
       About
Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

Rough shape altogether
Course is in rough shape, pro shop is empty, check in staff is lacking any friendliness, fairways are overgrown with weeds, greens have chunks entirely removed. Even for $22 a round, we won’t play here again. It’s unfortunate, I hope someone starts taking care of this place, the layout could be amazing!
Good value for the price to play
Course conditions are better this year. Fairways are in better shape than some other courses in Citrus county.
Terrible!
We were not greeted at all, just "what's your name?" He gave us a cart key and told us where the carts were. Not a "hello, welcome, have fun," nothing...Most cartpaths are loaded with pot holes. Lots of dirt in the Fairways and what grass there is, is pure wildgrass. The tee boxes needed to be cut as grass was high on many of them, worn out towels and no tops on several ball washers. Several greens had large patches of sand on them. Course is not marked well from hole to hole for directions. This course has pretty well been neglected. Restaurant is not open. That pretty well sums it up...
golf
this course should not even be open it is not even playable very sad shame on you golfnow for even put this on your sight
Best deal for the money
Off course leaves a lot to be desired. On course has continue to improve. At less than $20 per round, it’s hard to beat.
Getting there.
I felt the course was in excellent condition considering it is there off season, greens were somewhat receptive and rolling quite fast. the course is starting to show signs of early recovery as new grass is starting to sprout, so I imagine in the next couple weeks it will be quite improved.
