About
Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

Reviews
Getting there.
Still some bare spots on the fairways and greens due to recent weather. Staff is working to fix this. A decent layout that will punish you for errant shots into killer rough. A course that you can relax and work on your game. A ranger could help to speed up the real slow groups now and then.
Lakeside Golf
Not in good condition, definite lack of money! the worst thing was the bathrooms, they were filthy and should have been closed.
These facilities needed to be inspected by the county and the club should be made to clean them up/ renew them

Course was definitely in better shape . Staff is always friendly and helpfull.
What a shame it’s gone so far downhill
This course was amazing when I first started playing it. Now it’s gone so far downhill I can’t recommend it.
Golf course?
I was taught if you can't something nice don't say anything at all.
Farm Course
Grass so long in fairways, lost too many balls to play the 18, so we left. Carts were decent. Cost is only $20-$25 for 18 but you get what you pay for.
Get what you pay for
Starting with the Pro-shop staff or should I say kid that was irritated I made him look up from his phone to check my son and I in. Moved to the driving range where the tee boxes were more mud than grass. The course has a lot of potential but it is poorly maintained there were a few fairways the grass was so tall it felt like an Easter egg hunt and not golf. The food was good the beer was cold and it’s a cheap round of golf
My husband and I liked the course layout. However, on most holes, you have to hit the fairway or risk losing your ball. Off the fairway, the grass is so dense that the ball is very difficult to find. We had one of those bad days where we could not hit many fairways, so taking time to find our ball prolonged play and was frustrating at times. Fortunately, we didn't have anyone playing behind us that had to wait on us. Another bad moment was when I had to use the restrooms located on hole 4 and midway through the back nine. They were very messy and I couldn't use them. The clubhouse restrooms were nice. My husband had a bad day at the course and told me that we shouldn't have gone golfing that day. He told me that he would have had just as bad of a day no matter where we played, but the added frustration trying to find balls that were outside of the fairway and the on-course restroom conditions makes it difficult to give a good review. However, we did like the course layout.
