About
Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

Better than it was
Getting better on the course but not the amenities
Good value
This course has a nice design, however the greens and fairways are no well maintained, bunkers are ok. I played multiple times mainly because of location and good prices.
Slow improvement
Good value for $13 and to try new swing theories but not for scoring. Greens dry, fast and patchy, tees not even close to level and fairways that alot of times your hitting off sand. Maintenence people out but nothing will get better till they actually spend some big money .
Great for the money!
The course is definitely improved since the last time I played. However, there’s no clubhouse, no bar, and no restaurant. Rumor is this course has become the stepchild of the owners. would not take much for this to become a great course. The clubhouse, the restaurant, and the bar are gonna take a whole lot more.

Greens getting better
Greens are getting a little faster and playable. Fairways are so- so, but not bad. It wasn't crowded for a Saturday. I was behind a slow threesome to start, but once I made the turn, it was a breeze. For the money, you'd be hard - pressed to find a better course.
Needs Lots of Love
Scarey _ Clubhouse seemed deserted. pay bar, lone person watching TV. (paid on line golf now)
gave us key to cart and pointed to first and gave us yardage book. front 9 was a sand trap test ! Greens poor. Lost without yardage book. Back nine had grass on 8 fairways, conditions showed water was available. Greens were decent on back. Ok to practice, but better value elsewhere.
Played last year and they had a great kitchen, now closed. The course was in not bad shape for 25 dollars.
