Fun Course
We played the Blue tees on a beautiful sunny day. Advertised yardage is 6411, and it probably played pretty close to that. This is a fun, interesting layout. The tees, greens, and fairways for the most part were in good shape. Smooth greens, a little on the slow side, but held shots well. The only negatives were that there are some areas that are in play that are a little rough. There was sand in most of the sand bunkers, but it was very hard and virtually unplayable in some of them. The rough around the greens and fairways had a lot of clover, but were very playable. Overall it was a fun place to play. I would go back.
clover
course was just okay. a number of spots on front nine with no grass and did not look like any attempt being made to grow grass. clover everywhere. UGH
cart paths need resurfacing.
don't try walking the course . they area from 7 green to 8 tee box felt like a 1/2 mile in the cart.
Cedar Trace- tough on the beginner
A few other courses are better for the beginner, or golfer that fires scores exceeding 95. Its got some good holes, and is relatively fun to play. It's tight, and requires positioning of your tee shots. There are some interesting holes that are fun to play. The condition for the price is descent. The beginner or golfer that cannot control his shots well could lose several balls. One of the holes on the back nine was kind of crazy because there wasn't a lot of room to land your tee shot and the lay of the land made that even more difficult. You tee off into the side hill fairway, and your ball rolls towards the woods. All in all, golf now has hot deals and it its crazy cheap.
4 hour round on a Sunday afternoon
It's not a five star course, but you don't pay a five star price. Lots of elevation changes and blind shots, especially on the back 9. Water on many holes. Worth the price of admission.
Always a good course
I've played here about 4 times and will keep coming back. Greens in great shape. All good. 18th hole is odd, yet fun. Launching your ball down a hill, over trees, guessing about where the hole is. Once you get it, it is your favorite hole to play.
Terrific value for your $
Great course, fair, yet challenging. You will use all of your clubs during your round of golf
My favorite course
Love the lay of the course. Challenge! They are and have done a tremendous amount of approvements over last two years. If you played it when it was Lord's Valley, you should go back and try it again.
CT
Though there had been rain in the area it had quit by the time we started. The course was damp but not soggy so conditions were acceptable. The fairways were in fair shape and the greens were in good shape.
Course was moderate in difficulty and had some challenging holes.
Diamond in the rough
Good course to play with friends.
Pace of play is quick, staff are friendly.
Really relaxed atmosphere allows for a fun and challenging golf round.
I'm a fan of the layout and it looks like they making improvements to the course.
Cedar Trace was a great experience
The course had some small issues but was very playable and at times challenging. The bunkers were a little unkept. The greens were nice , a little slow but OK once you got used to them. It was my first time playing there so the helpful hints, sheet we got helped a lot. I would like to play again now that I know the course a bit. Shot a 36 in the front and blew up in back with a 44. But a good day and great weather that day.
Cedar Trace is an Ace!
Fantastic play, friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere and all for a great price. You can't go wrong with this course, which is great for all levels of golfers both young and old. Also, this course is the home course for the Clermont Northeastern Rockets middle school and high school teams. Cedar Trace seems to be very passionate about the future of golf and these young golfers and shows them support by allowing the facilities here to be used for practice and school matches. Fantastic place for an outing as well, the amenities downstairs have lots of space and a great bar area. Can't say enough about these friendly people and great course.
The Golf Course Equivalent of a Dive Bar
It's readily apparent that only 3 people in total maintain the facilities. The attention to detail is lost in that regard. Our tee time was at 9am, and we experienced the below:
- Carts were all soaked and hadn't been wiped off from the previous night's rain.
- Every cart had some cosmetic defect, whether it be cushion tears, broken plastic trim, or a cracked roof.
- Food items outside of the heat spun hot dogs were clearly microwaved. How appetizing are loud beeps after you just ordered a sandwich?
- Going slow down some of the cart path hills proved more treacherous than speeding down them. Both of our carts fish tailed and slid to a stop in some brush between the first and second tees.
All of these things aside, the physical condition of the course was decent for a public course. There were several grounds under repair, but that's to be expected later in the season.
Everyone loves their local dive bar, and can grow accustomed to the usual appearance or character of the facilities. That being said, most people won't travel further than 5 minutes to go to a dive. My opinion, I won't be back unless it's a special occasion or I happen to be in the area. It's not worth the gas I spent getting there.
Last min Labor Day.
I was surprised at the course. Tucked away in the country.some challenging holes. Fairways and tee boxes were in bad condition but not bad for the money. I will play there again for sure.
Blow up the 15th hole. One of the worst designs in golf.
Overall, I like playing this course. But holes 7, 15, 16 are ridiculous for the 'average' golfer. Your looking at a five hour round here since so many 'macho' guys play from the blue tees (6500 yds.) and lose a dozen balls every round. The greens are huge and many have severe breaks. They are finally rebuilding the sand traps. Some should just be turned into grass bunkers to save upkeep. The course has run amok crab grass. My crowd can live with fairways that have some crabgrass and bare lies. We play winter rules in the fairway. But we like to play the ball down in the rough. The crabgrass rough is almost unplayable. The overall course is majestic in views, flora/fauna, birds/critters. Unwalkable. The back nine is very 'hot', little shade. Very difficult. Not for beginners or hacks.
basic golf
Some interesting holes, but the course routing was a nightmare. If we had not had a regular player of the course join us (and provide much needed advice), we might still be out there.
Nice Course, good value
This course was a good value. Some holes are very deceiving. #7 in particular. Great course to really swing the big driver. Nice par 3's. Course in good condition but most are with all the rain we've had. It's worth the drive.
Fun and challenging
Real nice course for the money. The GPS driving directions to the course is in accurate . Friendly staff, nice fairways and average greens. Overall good value and if you live close, even better.
This course is in great shape
Well kept course. Staff is friendly. Nice diversity with the holes. Keeps you on your toes.
Worth the money
Course is a little rough and out of the way, but for the price it's worth every penny.
Great value
A lot of course for the money… I would highly recommend this course... It has something for everyone at whatever level you might play.
