Challenging, gorgeous course
Beautiful layout, well maintained fairways, challenging course with challenging undulating greens
My only complaints are there was not much drinking water on the course and it appeared that people who had played the course we're not really respectful toward it. I found many and repaired ball marks on greens and divots in the fairways and I honestly thought it was a disgrace because this course is absolutely beautiful And really well maintained
I would absolutely play here again in a heart beat
They also provided a book which was outstanding in giving distances to hazards and Preferable positions in the fairways on dog legs and accurate distances
This cost a dollar but it was well worth it.
just off the cape
visiting friends in plymouth and was looking for a course to play. read the reviews and booked a hot deal. i was a single and got out earlier then my tee time as a twosome. crosswinds is in great shape from tee to green. fairways were lush and the greens were quick,. some blind shots and my playing partner helped out with direction. i had some time to kill after finishing so i played another nine. throughly enjoyable day.
Great layout, fun course
Definitely a hidden gem. The conditions were really good except for a few tee boxes that were beat up. Layout was awesome. You can see everything in front of you from the tee shot. Wide fairways. Driving range wasn't very good but other practice area was nice. Staff really friendly.
One of the best I’ve played
This isn’t a real gem on the South Shore that doesn’t get the press that it’s Plymouth neighbors do. Challenging course with a variety of tee boxes to test all levels. Lots of elevation and forced carries. I’ll definitely be back!
Very Nice, Challenging 27 Holes
Three 9 hole courses named after golf legends (Jones, Ouimet, Zaharius) which provides great variety and replay ability. The Ouimet course is the most challenging and least forgiving. The Jones course is a lot of fun especially if you play a cut/fade with the driver. Par 3s are spectacular, elevated tees, some water holes. Par 4s are very challenging, especially on the Ouimet course. Very well maintained course and very good looking views. One of the best aspects of the course is the tee boxes, absolutely tremendous! Very wide which allows you to play draws and fades on any hole, whichever you prefer, without penalty. In fact I would say the tee boxes are the best in Southeast Massachusetts. Staff is kind of meh and the amenities are lacking but the golf is fantastic.
Best public course on the south shore
Crosswinds is an absolute gem of a course. Pine hills quality at almost half the cost
Hidden Gem
I am reluctant to give this course a good review out of fear people will start booking it out...... by far my favorite course to play. 27 holes of great golf. ....... did I mention it was my favorite. Great condition, pace of play can get a little slow but other than that worth the wait. Best tee box views in the South Shore .
Great Shape
Place was in incredible condition. Fairways were like walking on sponge. I actually reached down to touch them several times to see if they were moist or wet. Nope just in great shape. Tough but fair. No hard pan, great fairways and rough. Greens were tough putting, but they were great and rolled nicely. Hadn’t been there in a while and I’m glad I went back. One of the best maintained courses I’ve played in a while. I’ve played a bunch of them. Keep up the great work.
Great course awfully run clubhouse
The course is great, tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens are well kept. The management of the clubhouse/bar are not. Sadly this has been the case for years, good luck getting a dog and beer at the turn, it’s SO SLOW! The website doesn’t have rate info and it’s a crime that there are no winter rates. The town of Plymouth is losing a lot of $$ with this poor management.
great course to play!
played a lot these two years' summer on this course. Everything is good here!
BEST PUBLIC COURSE. ...TREMENDOUS LAYOUT!
Crosswinds has been a favorite of mine for years. Any time I have brought any of my friends or clients; they brag about the condition and design of the course....and they belong to Private Clubs!
Course is great, staff are not
The course from tee box to fairway to green is top notch, the greens are as good as pine hills.
The staff on multiple occasions are not polite an borderline rude.
Best value
Got a ten play card for 400,(40 a round w/cart).
Most courses around the bridge have the same rolling hills ,so what are you paying for? In my view it's greens, tees and variety of holes.Crosswinds gives you all that and more! It has 27 holes so there's never a sense of boredom that 18 hole courses tend to do plus the course moves really well with multiple start options. If you play there multiple times ,change your tee box and it plays to a whole different look....swing away
Every hole gives you a different look
This was the first time I played Crosswinds and it was in a scramble tournament. The course has great elevation changes and forced carries. The fairways were in great condition, the greens were quick and the tee boxes needed a little bit of work, especially the par 3s. Overall this was a very good course and ranks highly with me in the rankings of courses I have played in the state of Massachusetts. If you are someone looking for a destination for golf Plymouth, MA is a great spot. With the two courses at Pinehills, this course and two others make it a long weekend destination for anyone looking for a spot that is different than the usual spots.
