About

Holes 9
Type Public/Municipal
Par 36
Length 3553 yards
Slope 138
Rating 37.5

Firewheel Golf Park boasts a total of 63 championship holes. There are three regulation courses: the Bridges, the Lakes, and the Old Course, which boast enough variety to appeal to a wide range of skill levels from novices to pros. The 27-hole Bridges Course even offers three more 18-hole combinations. The layout is comprised of three different nines: the Masters, the Champions, and the Traditions that can be mixed and matched for a different round every time you play at Firewheel. Throughout the course, golfers will face strategically placed bunkers and there are tall oak and pecan trees all along the sculpted fairways. Spring Creek and Rowlett Creek also weave across the landscape, coming into play on several holes. The Masters is the longest of the three nines at 3,553 yards from the back tees.

Afternoon Tee Off

Greens are in good shape on Champions & Masters course. Well kept for a course that gets a lot of traffic. Water is available, too. Watch out for the Golf Carts. Mine broke down but I got it running. iPhone charger didn’t work.

Love the Champions 9. The Masters 9 was brutal in the heavy winds.

A good course with a few changes.

The bridges course at Firewheel is by far the best of the three in the complex. I played the Masters and Traditions nines yesterday and for the most part the course was in good shape. the greens rolled true and the fairways were in fantastic shape. I have played other courses in the Plano area that could learn a great deal from the grounds crew at firewheel. There were fewer people than I expected but that could have been due to the hot temps along with many people being out at the Byron Nelson.

There have been a few changes but nothing major. Two trees on the 7th hole on the masters course either fell down or were cut down. that changed how you play that par 5 but not a big deal. The addition of the MASSIVE power lines that cut the 8th hole on the traditions course down do a gap wedge shot is a little disappointing but I doubt that the course had any say in where the power lines were going. As always the practice facilities were in great shape and the staff has always been friendly. Its a great course and I would recommend it to anyone.

Great Muni Course

Firewheel bridges course is one of the nicest municipal courses around Dallas. The three nines are very different, and each provides its own unique layout. The greens are bent however they’re transitioning to Bermuda. Overall it is well worth the price paid on GolfNow!

Course In great condition

Beautiful course in garland. I like all 3 of the 9’s. Masters is the best IMO. Pace of play is great. Only down side is we didn’t see a cart person with beverages/snacks at all. Come prepared as it gets into higher temperatures.

Decent but a bit pricy for the course and conditions

Not a bad course and entertaining layout. Greens and bunkers in good conditions. Not impressive at all and a bit pricy in my opinion
