Bridges - The Tradition at Firewheel Golf of Garland
About
The Bridges at Firewheel Golf Park is a 27-hole layout that has been a regular host of U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur qualifying tournaments. The course is comprised of three nines that can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Tradition nine is the shortest of the three at just over 3,200 yards from the back tees. What it lacks in length, it makes up for with the rolling terrain. Golfers will face tricky uneven lies in addition to strategically placed bunkers and towering oak and pecan trees. There are also two creeks that crisscross through the entire golf course. They come into play on several holes. Not only does the Bridges provide three 18-hole courses, there is also Firewheel's original 18-hole Old Course, which was followed soon after by the 18-hole Lakes Course.

Course and greens in great condition considering the brutal summer we've had. Champions 9 looks even better and should be open to public play after the next hosted tourney.
Great Value and great course
What I am about to say goes for all three courses Old/ Lakes/ Bridges. I have been playing at all three since 2014.
The staff at all three locations are fantastic. The Old / Lakes club house is a little older but the city has put money into and its really looking great. The Bridges course is more modern with better practice facilities but you cant go wrong with either one. The Lakes and Old course are in great shape but the greens roll slightly slower than the bridges. Considering the TERRIBLE shape other public courses like Twin Creeks, Ridgeview ranch and Woodbridge are in this place is a gem. Unlike those others all the greens are open and well trimmed. All the tee boxes are in great shape. A real hats off to the greens staff at these two facilities.

Disappointed there was no beverage cart on the course on a holiday
Awesome course
Best greens that I’ve played this summer. Really good layout… well kept sand traps. Highly recommend!
Sandy course but fun to play
The course has tons of bunkers that can ruin decent drives but overall the course plays to your advantage if you have fades or draws. Lots of doglegs and fun par 3s.
Course is in great shape. Greens were quick, fairways were nice, not much to complain about. Enjoyed the round
Fun course!
Greens are smooth and true especially for July!
Fairways are in good shape and tee boxes are predictably hard.
Very few players on the course. Showed up an hour early at 11am for a 12:10pm tee time and they said "tee off right now if you like!". Great pace of play.
Water on the course and the cart girl came around 4-5 times.
Hard to beat at the GolfNow hot deal of $25!!
Solid Course
Really enjoyed the first time playing here. Course is nicely taken care of. Lots of sand and nice greens. We were flying thru the course until we got behind four old guys who thought they were at the Masters which added an hour to our time.
Didn’t see the beverage cart until the back nine on a super hot day was terrible but luckily they had water buckets all over.
Other than that it’s way better than the old course and I look forward to playing again.
