Bridges - The Tradition at Firewheel Golf of Garland
About
The Bridges at Firewheel Golf Park is a 27-hole layout that has been a regular host of U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur qualifying tournaments. The course is comprised of three nines that can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Tradition nine is the shortest of the three at just over 3,200 yards from the back tees. What it lacks in length, it makes up for with the rolling terrain. Golfers will face tricky uneven lies in addition to strategically placed bunkers and towering oak and pecan trees. There are also two creeks that crisscross through the entire golf course. They come into play on several holes. Not only does the Bridges provide three 18-hole courses, there is also Firewheel's original 18-hole Old Course, which was followed soon after by the 18-hole Lakes Course.

Hot but fun
Courses were in decent albeit a bit dried out. The greens were in good shape and fast. What I love about this course is the abundance of shade to avail yourself on 100 degree days. Also, not too many residences lining the fairways. Overall, a good day although having to return our carts by 8pm limited us to 16 holes.
Great
Played Champions and Master.. Greens are in great condition. Great course and good value.
Good shape
The course is in great shape, super tight fairways on The Masters 9. It’s a shot makers course
Great course layout but no water on course in 100 degree heat.
Great course layout but when my son called the proshop and asked if they can get water out on the course , the response should not be “that’s golf course maintenance job”…
Ok…so…this has prompted me to write a review..
In addition you can’t get a beverage cart person after 4pm cause they leave and come back at 5:30/6:00pm to unload and clock out apparently…??
Does the City of Garland run this course…what’s going on with the daily operation…??
Nice round late in the day!
Grass to hit off, greens rolling good, T Boxes could have a tad more grass but overall, a value for a Sr, for Sure!
It's ok
Hardpan is an understatement for the tee boxes...concrete..bring steel tee's. Lol
We had our back 9 cut short because they require carts by 8, so be aware.
Overall, it's OK.
Champions/Masters
Champions/Masters are both in great shape for July.
Tee boxes have ample grass but are rock hard. Fairways are good, not a lot of ground under repair areas. Greens are smooth and relatively fast.
Of note, the greens are really hard, not a pitch mark to be found, so you have to shoot for the front edge distance for your ball to hold!
Fireweheel Bridges
I have played this course where it has 3 nines. The 2 nines we played usually was BentGrass greens and was in bad shape. Looks like they changed to Bermuda greens and were in really good shape and we liked putting on the greens.
Bridges
Friendly staff and a nice round of golf. Course is in especially good shape considering all the rain we’ve had in Texas. Greens were in really good shape.
Fantastic
Great course conditions. I know it sounds crazy but I showed up at the course without my golf clubs. Pro Shop staff was amazing and took care or me. Made my day and my visiting sisters round memorable. Thanks guys.
