The Golf Club of Jupiter

About
Founded in 1940, the Golf Club of Jupiter is one of the town's oldest golf clubs. It is a local favorite that is still a pretty well kept secret from the rest of the state. It is not the most challenging layout that low handicappers will ever encounter, but it is a quick, playable round with excellent service and a friendly atmosphere. There are some water hazards that come into play, but nothing too demanding, and there are a few strategically placed bunkers throughout. The front nine is slightly shorter and less challenging than the back nine but overall, beginners would not feel overwhelmed. In addition to the course, the Golf Club of Jupiter also has a driving range where they use floating balls into a lake.

Overall a challenging, but fun course. Pace of play was just fine.
This was a tight course that left little room for error. If it was in better condition and it wasn't that bad, it would be a delight to play regularly.
course is coming back
now that the "snowbirds" are leaving and we are starting to get some rain, the grass is growing in , its not like a driveway and you can get in a round under 4 hours
nice course for the $
nice course for the $ without any fancy amenities;
nice friendly staff
great value
the worst driving range mats I've ever seen
The course is n[in good condition.
The course is in good condition. The staff manages the course very well and the timing was great.
aggravating and distracting
So its a par 70 and the yardages are a little exaggerated. I would consider this a long executive course with the exxagerated yardage so they could charge regular course rates. Had a 732 tee time and the starter sent us out at about 720. There were workers on the first 4 greens while we were playing and surrounding every whole of the course, it was VERY distracting and annoying. When brought to the attention of the clubhouse they said sorry but there was a jupiter ordinance not allowing them to start working before 7. Well instead of cramming in all these early tee times to make a few extra bucks they should start there tee times at 8 to make it an enjoyable round for all who are playing, it felt like a waste of 40 bucks per person. After making the comment to them we were treated like second class citizens. The course was in decent shape, but definitely not too challenging or as long as it says. All in all i WOULD NOT recommend this course, with so many other options within such short driving distance save yourself the hassle and aggrivation and golf somewhere else.
Course needs maintenance
Due to the lack of rain or golf course watering, the course is in pretty dried out condition with a hard surface, and not much fertilizer has been used to keep it good condition. I enjoyed the track and would play again. Price is right for this time of the season in Florida. Staff is friendly but play can be slow as there are no "rangers".
After season, course will slowly recover.
In-town course for convenience but golf ediquete by seasonal public results in soft greens being overly played/damaged from unrepaired ball marks. T-boxes, in many cases are very sandy and missed shots are result of poor footing. I play two-club lengths back IAW official rules but even that isn't into good grass for t-shot. By end of May, it should be better.
Compact course like this one would benefit from use of electric carts vice the noisy gas engine carts presently used.
Driving range is mats only. At one time, grass was allowed. I don't particularly benefit from mat practice and don't particularly like paying $4.50 for small bucket when large percentage of the practice balls are over-used and worn down to the point that they fly like knuckle balls. The new WILSONs in the mix are fine, but some of the balls were around when Harry Vardon was. Just saying.
Overall, the staff is great and course is convenient for last-minute golf.
Disappointing
This course at is best would be no better than a municipality economical course price range should be between 25and40
I expect golf now to be more accurate in evaluating course and price
Play was quick
Dry condition,Greens a little beat up,still a good deal in afternoon only
The back nine is very challenging.
I like having the easy first 3 holes - it helps to find some rhythm.
I usually score well on the front nine, but am really tested on the back nine.
I like to play very early. I did not expect to see ladies foursomes ahead of our group of 3 on the back nine. The play slowed down to a snail's pace - took us 3 hours to play the back nine.
Might I suggest no starting on the back nine until at least 10.30 am.
A nice FL course with a very friendly staff
As a "snow bird" my wife and I played The G C of Jupiter 16 times in 2012 and continue to enjoy the course this year having played 6 rounds and a 7th coming up later this week. While we have played other golf courses in the area; Fl Club, Heritage Ridge, Okeeheelee GC, we keep coming back to The GC of Jupiter.
RJS
We had a great day.
We enjoyed the staff and the pace of play. Course is reasonably priced and in good condition.
We all enjoyed playing the course
course conditions were very good. nice layout. courteous and friendly staff.
Very convenient and the course conditions were adequate for the price. The pace of play was less than 4 hours.
Worth a visit. Good value, decent conditions and the greens were good condsidering the amount of play.
The Winter season
During the winter season it is very crowded. I can't wait until the season is over.
Tight course with too many houses but good value for money and convenient
This was a very challenging course which I wished I had played before for better club selection. I should have left my driver at home for most of the holes
Older course
Its a $40.00 course at best, gree fees are a little expensive for what you get.
This course has good features
I have no complaints with this course. On the other hand, it would be best if you had a GPS. I do not feel as though the yardage is very accurate. I would golf here again.
Overpriced
I have played a lot better courses for less money than what they charge. $69 for 8:00AM and later tee times is ridiculous.
They pay no attention to the pace of play at this place.
Went alone, but hooked up for a 4some to play. There were two set of three in front of us that were playing painfully slow. The other couple we were playing with were so discouraged they called the clubhouse to complain. They never even sent anyone out to check. Wont go back anytime soon.
