About
Windy Knoll Golf Club is known among locals as being one of Springfield's best public golf courses. The course was built in 2001, though you would not be able to tell from its traditional links design. It manages to be a classic links golf course while still being a challenge. The site was originally a horse farm and the design incorporates some of the features from the terrain's former use. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are trees and rough lining the fairways. Golfers will find many risk-reward opportunities on the course, one good example being the par-4 eighth. This hole plays into the prevailing wind and if you miss your drive, you may find yourself in one of the eight bunkers surrounding the undulating green.

this course is in good condition, very well maintained.
The facilities at Windy Knoll are top notch. The fairways are in great condition. The greens are fast, but in good condition.
Great layout; worth the drive from Cincinnati.
Played the course from the grey tees. I'm a short hitter, but was not too long for me. Really enjoyed the layout - semi-links course (has several lakes and trees on some holes). Greens are a challenge - lots of breaks and a bit hard to read. In good shape for November. Pace of play was a bit slow due to some inexperienced folks ahead of us; I was a bit disappointed that the course management was not monitoring occasionally to help move them along.

Course was in good condition. I was pleasantly surprised how well the fairways, sand traps and greens played considering Fall weather. Would definitely play the course again and encourage others to do the same.
Excellent golf course. Great staff and great golf course. I would highly recommend this course to a fellow golfer.
The course is well managed and cared for. There are plenty of challenging holes so be sure and bring your A game. The putting surface is spectacular. You will get a true roll from the first hole to eighteenth hole. This course has quickly become one of my favorites. I am certain I would have never had the privilege to golf this course if it would not have been for fantastic deals found on Golfnow.com. A million thanks to that establishment!
Windy can be Windy
The course was in good condition. The fairways seemed to have out lasted the dry summer. The greens were aerated within a couple weeks. They were fast and true. Breaks were big and challenging to read speed and break together. Downhill putts were hard to control. Ball could move at address from wind. Tee box and greens were very exposed to the wind. Ball can carry far with prevailing wind, and die quick on par three's into the wind. Overall a very nice course. I will play again next year.

Great course - Great people - Fun place to play
Challenging layout but fun.
New ownership has been making several improvements to the facilities.
Pace of play has been improved and will continue to improve with changes to some of the slower holes.
The staff is very relaxed and fun to interact with.
Good food at good prices.
One of the best overall golfing experiences at very reasonable rates.
Well worth playing often.
I'm very glad to live close to such an enjoyable golf course.
Great course; but customer service is terrible!
Played 9 holes (paid for 18) this past weekend; took 4.5 hours. Course was extremely overbooked. Calls to the course to discuss have not been returned. Really like this course, but after this experience, I will not be returning.
