Windy Knoll Golf Club
About
Windy Knoll Golf Club is known among locals as being one of Springfield's best public golf courses. The course was built in 2001, though you would not be able to tell from its traditional links design. It manages to be a classic links golf course while still being a challenge. The site was originally a horse farm and the design incorporates some of the features from the terrain's former use. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are trees and rough lining the fairways. Golfers will find many risk-reward opportunities on the course, one good example being the par-4 eighth. This hole plays into the prevailing wind and if you miss your drive, you may find yourself in one of the eight bunkers surrounding the undulating green.

Windy Knoll
Great shape great value. Several character holes including a drivable par 4. Good fun.
Nice grass
This is the best course in our area. It's beautiful very well kept and challenging. I especially liked the tight cut fairways in front of the Greens. I was able to make a couple of those long off the green lag putts I usually only see on TV. I don't like flat courses with paths cut through the trees and this course is just the opposite of that. It's more open and more about the hills, water and bunkers.
A Great Course to Play
Paid for 18 holes, got in 9 due to pace of play (Got a rain check for 9). Followed a foursome who had a foursome ahead of them, but didn't way me thru until the 9th hole, which I passed on (It was the last dam hole). I was even par thru 9 on a fairly windy day, so Yes I love this course, but it is such a great course on its own. The staff were great checking me in and giving me a rain check to which I'll come back for 18 holes. Go Play it!
New favorite course
Very nice course. Greens were faster than I was used to, but willing to learn.
Great value and definitely presents challenges and can bite you very quickly.
Pace of play was just over 3 hours. I like playing without waits, but for some reason I felt like we were running. Not sure why. We were not being pushed.
Definitely worth the drive from Beavercreek and I will be back!
Great course design, challenging but fair.
We had a great time, the course was in good shape and the staff was so friendly they made it a pleasure. This course is challenging but fairly open so you have great opportunities to recover from unlucky shots. It is well worth the trip to Springfield if you have not played the course before I would reccomend you give it a try.
Great Course
Course was in great shape, friendly management, enjoyable day, but a tad windy.
Windy Knoll
Staff extremely friendly. Course was in super great condition, bunkers a a bit damp and hard (to be expected with the recent amount of rain). Playing smart will give you many scoring opportunities. For the price it is in the top three of courses to play in the Dayton area. Also, want thank my playing partners, two wonderful local ladies for a truly enjoyable round of golf. Thank you ( A & L )
One of the Top Courses in the area
We play all of the better public courses in the Dayton area. And they have turned this course into one of the tops. Well worth the short drive from Dayton and the surrounding suburbs.
Greatly improved!
I played this course two years ago and it was in very poor condition. There was obvious neglect of the course and facilities. Crabgrass was abundant and was encroaching the fringes around the greens.
The new ownership group has done an outstanding job in improving the conditions of the course. There were no unplayable lies or ground under repair like I had found before. The fairways, rough and greens were all in excellent condition.
This is a fun course with great challenges from the tips or even playing up further. It is the best course in the area and provides an excellent value.
Great course
Tee off's were every 5 minutes up to 8:30 am, had course backed up thru whole 18 holes, waiting up to 15 minutes to take shots.
First time playing there
Played windy knoll for the first time with some friends that play there often. Great course, very well taken care of. I will play there again.
Great course
The improvements at course are fantastic. Greens reacted well with bite and elimination of natural areas speed play.
Windy Knoll
First time playing the course and it was very fun. Lots of open shots, but lots of water. Greens were in the best condition of any course I've played at all year.
The name says it all. "Windy Knoll"
This course was fun. There was wind on every hole and it would stop and go and come from different directions, a true test for the average golfer. Pace of play was terrible. The starter was telling us to pick it up, but only to hit a two twosome in front of us followed by a single who was spraying them everywhere. At the turn i went into the restaurant for a pop and hotdog, and my bill was $7.25. (INSANE).. Overall the course was in great shape, i can't complain about that. Book a tee time on golf now for the best rates, my buddy and I played for $16 a each.
Nice Challenge
Very nice course.....It is developing nicely into one of the area's finest....normally you must use every club in your bag !! Plenty of Tee'Boxes to suit your play.....Staff is great !!
Even better than expected
This is a young maturing course and some minor things are being worked out. Played this course on Easter and it was the best conditioned course I have played all spring. Bent grass fairways and tees were nice. Lots of water makes for a challenge. Greens were large and fast. Plenty of undulation makes putting an artful adventure. Can't wait to play again. Bar and grill was being remodeled, so conditions there were pretty spare. Very friendly staff.
WINDY KNOOL
Course was in very good condition. Played in less than 4 hours.
No yardage markers
The course was in good shape. Greens were consistent and fast. Probably the best greens in my area. Only complaints are there were hardly no yardage markers anywhere on the course and the flag sticks were the shortest I've ever seen. But guessing on yardages all day was very frustrating and demoralizing.
First Trip Through Windy Knoll
Really enjoyed the course, greens rolled great for early in the season, no problem getting paired up as a single. Staff was very friendly and wanted to know how I liked the course and what i thought of everything. They get 5 stars for pace of play only because we were the first group out therefore no one in front of us but it didn't seem to be a problem for any of the foursome behind us.
