About
Surrounded by dense woodlands, Clover Valley Golf Club has a secluded parkland setting that also allows for some links-style holes. The course is relatively young but it has a much older feel to it. The versatile layout has an interesting mix of holes that appeals to a variety of different tastes and abilities. There are also four sets of tees that make it even more accommodating to a range of skill levels. The layout features gently rolling fairways that are lined with trees. They are rather generously sized though, which makes them more player-friendly. The medium-sized greens are also approachable with only slight undulations. There are several lakes as well as a creek that come into play on several holes. In addition to the golf course, Clover Valley also offers extensive practice facilities including a driving range with target greens, a large putting green, and a chipping area with greenside bunkers.

The Good: Really great layout & property. Friendly staff
The Bad: As other reviews have said, course is in rough shape. Multiple greens automatic two putts because unplayable. Others with large ground under repair issues. If they put some money into the course (clubhouse/range/green issues) this would be an absolute gem.
The Ugly: Maybe 30 cars in the parking lot. Didn’t see holes 13-18 because the first three holes took an hour & 7 mins. 4-5 groups of boomers moving slowly, grinding out every three footer, and playing from incorrect tee boxes. We just drove back to our cars.
Fall golf
Golf this time of year depends on the weather and when the greens were punched and these greens were 2 weeks from the punch but had not recovered very well and the fringe and rough had not been mowed. I played there earlier in the year and the course was in great shape except for the bunkers.

Tough greens!
I was overmatched on the greens. They were very slow as it was extremely humid. I liked the challenges the course gives with layup or go-for-it choices

Fun layout, good challenge, solid conditions
Lots of folks complain about the conditions but conditions were actually good. Say for a few spots on certain greens, and the entire 5th green seemingly dead, the putting surfaces were speedy, smooth, and true. Fairways were running firm and the fairway grass was great to hit approach shots from. Like the greens, there were a few areas of mud/baked out grass, but nothing that couldn’t be considered ground under repair and played as a free drop. Bunkers were unplayable, however, which sucks because they add significantly to the strategy of the layout.
The layout is super fun and challenges you to make good shots but very fair to errant balls. Staff was also friendly. We got our round at $30 because high school matches were ongoing slowing the pace down significantly. At that price point it was well worth it - not sure what the regular rate would’ve been…

Course is in rough shape
Staff was incredibly friendly, love the courselay out as well, but the course is in brutal shape. Large dead spots on the greens, nearly every fairway has significant damage/tire ruts. Will wait until next year to return

A lot of fairways under repair
Course was in much worse shape than last year (2020). Almost every fairway had large sections that weren’t drained or damaged, several greens had dead patches as well. The layout is always great but unless it’s a discount don’t pay full green fees this year!

Great round
Course was in good condition and the layout is great. Each hole has a personality and not boring. We walked the course and they had mowed cut thrus from green to tees, nice. I would recommend this course to all.

No sand in bunkers. Baked clay. Folks don’t fix their ball marks. Otherwise, a nice layout with plenty of different looks .

Good Value, A Bit Slow
The course itself was in pretty good condition, save for a few bunkers that became small ponds. Not terribly difficult overall, but enough to make each hole interesting and provide a bit of challenge. Nice staff, just a bit slow on pace of play. Definitely recommend if you’ve got some time to kill!

Hidden Gem
I was skeptical about this course and was pleasantly surprised. Course is in great shape. It is forgiving for us not so great golfers. Not super busy on week nights. Will definitely play again.
