Clover Valley Golf Club

About
Surrounded by dense woodlands, Clover Valley Golf Club has a secluded parkland setting that also allows for some links-style holes. The course is relatively young but it has a much older feel to it. The versatile layout has an interesting mix of holes that appeals to a variety of different tastes and abilities. There are also four sets of tees that make it even more accommodating to a range of skill levels. The layout features gently rolling fairways that are lined with trees. They are rather generously sized though, which makes them more player-friendly. The medium-sized greens are also approachable with only slight undulations. There are several lakes as well as a creek that come into play on several holes. In addition to the golf course, Clover Valley also offers extensive practice facilities including a driving range with target greens, a large putting green, and a chipping area with greenside bunkers.

Love the layout…
The course is always in very good shape. This brutal summer was especially tough on most courses in the Columbus, Ohio region. Clover Valley held up well.
Besides a couple boring holes, I really like the layout of Clover Valley, especially the back 9. #1, 16 and 17 are probably my favorite.
Unique course
The course layout it extremely unique, and different. The problem is, the course is in terrible terrible condition. The fairways were “patchy” and that’s me being nice. When you have to move your ball more that 5 yards to just find grass to hit off of it’s a problem. There are sections of the greens that are completly devoid of grass. I really wouldn’t recommend this place at all.
Fairway condition is too dry.
It's understandable that the fairway conditions are poor
due to the drought.
What have they done
Keeper Sports is buying and ruining all the great layouts outside of the Columbus area. Wow the damage they have done in 1 year is insane. They turned the place into an ankle deep swamp in the middle of a summer of drought and still had every sprinkler on. Couldn't even find plugged balls in the fairway. Deep deep puddles everywhere. Terrible bunkers. Awful fairways, bumpy greens. One of the coolest layouts around with the best green shapes I have ever played and all ruined in about a 2 year period. Someone take it from them and save it please!!!
Course was nice like 5 ago
I think this is managed by the same company as New Albany links. Played both within the last two weeks and they are in horrible shape. Burned up pretty badly. At least the pro shop gave us a discount at New Albany because they were embarrassed by the conditions. Not so here.... Yea we have drought conditions this summer but you can better than this.
Course is not in great shape
Played at 8:50 am and it was so wet. Fairways are not in good condition. Tee boxes are not in good condition. Bunkers are not in good condition. Greens are in decent shape. Only pro of the course is that the scorecard helps you a lot with distances and layouts of the holes.
Not looking to come back again after the conditions of the course. Specially for how much they charge. If they are not going to put in the work to keep the course in good conditions they should charge less. I don’t look forward to coming back to play here because it looks like they don’t put any of the money into keeping the course in nice condition.
In bad shape
Course went down hill fast. For the close to 70 dollars they charge this is no where near a 70 dollar course. Tee boxes are horrible, fairways are all torn up. I will say the greens were pretty nice but that’s about it.
Course has gone down hill
I used to play here frequently but with the rise in cost and decline of the quality, I don’t frequent it anymore. Today was first time in few months and course was in terrible shape. I would not be coming back for while until this gets fixed. Fairways were horrible, tee box was none existent with grass. Green did roll well so that was plus.
Course Is In Bad Shape
I was looking forward to playing this course, and I was surprised by the condition of the tee boxes, fairways, and greens.
A little rough
No sand, rough tee boxes. Nice layout, challenging greens. No management for pace of play. 4 5 hours in the middle of the week. Very rude people playing in front of us.
Honestly…,
I miss what it once was. And I know I’m old for saying that. But this course what bought out a couple years ago and the glory days left with that purchase. It was only built in 2001 and already seen and passed it’s prime. Golf courses are expensive so no one is to fault here. But make sure we keep the greens fees around 30$ Then it’d be fair. But the tee boxes were somehow over watered and mud pits. Bunkers that were emptied and turned to grass were still covered in netting and/or filled with rain water and reeds. It was honestly sad to see. If you’ve played it the past couple years you know what to expect, if you’ve been away for a few and are expecting what it was… catch a hot deal off GolfNow.
