The Preserve Golf Club at Tara features Ted McAnlis' par 72, championship golf course. Exceptional care was taken to protect and enhance wetlands and other natural features of the course. At just over 7,000 yards, the course offers four sets of tees, allowing players of all skill levels to enjoy a challenging round of golf. Eleven bridges span the many small streams running through the golf course, protecting natural waterfalls and wetland habitats. A unique feature is the 60 foot Mount Matthew, which sits between the driving zones of hole five and six and forms an impressive backdrop for the tee shot. A beautiful clubhouse is open for lunch daily and is perfect for seminars, banquets or receptions.

They need to maintain the course

The layout is one of the most challenging courses. I’ve played but they need to do maintenance to this course. The greens need a lot of help and they need to trim a lot of the trees. The fairways were in decent condition.

Worst ever

We figured out why there was hardly anyone else in the course. The greens were the worst I’ve ever seen. The grass was the same as the fairways. It was just cut shorter. You couldn’t roll a putt. The ball would hop and skip around.

Preserve at tara

This had to be one of the worst golf courses I have ever played in my life. The greens were absolutely atrocious the fairways were atrocious. I played this course about 4 years ago and it was great. As stated it was an awful day I brought two other people with me bragging about how great the course was. Till we get there oh my God this shouldn't even be playing it should be closed down.

thngs have changed

the course is in very rough shape, with issues clearly prior to surviving the 2024 hurricane season. Milton recently left the back 9 unplayable, so 18 holes means playing the front 9 twice. it' not the course i remember 4 years ago. However, its challenge remains, the staff were friendly, and the price through golf now exceptional.

Putting on Sawdust

Great value bad conditions

Fairways, tee boxes, greens were all in a shambles. Which explains why no one was at the course and I played solo. The only reason I would play this course again is $18.00 with a cart for 18 holes and I finished in about 2 1/2 hours.

Tara Preserve

This was never a great or well maintained golf course but used to be worth playing at a discounted price. I hadn’t played it for the last two years. Wow, it has gone to crap. It’s in a sad state. Possibly the worst conditioned course I’ve ever seen. Unless substantial changes are made I don’t see this course being open next year.
