The River Club

Course was in good shape, we played in under 4 hours.
Staff was very friendly. WE saw the Ranger a number of times driving through course to keep things moving.
We will definitely play there again.

We arrived at River Club at 11:30 for our 12:04 tee-time. As was the case the one time prior, there were delays and we only teed off at 12:35, one half an hour later. The frustration of golfers waiting was very visible as everyone sat in their respective carts for their turn to tee-off. This frustration intensified when people that were not in line were seen heading to the first tee. A gentleman from a group that was second or third behind us, vented on how this was becoming the norm at River Club, and he was visibly very upset because he had guests from Chicago and said that “they would not be able to finish the round”. I afterwards understood his concerns.

We finally teed off and the our round ended up being over 5 hours long. We got acquainted with the folks with whom we played, got acquainted with the foursome in front of us, got acquainted with the foursome behind us, and did something we have never, ever experienced before!! We also got acquainted with the foursome following the group behind us! There essentially was a reunion of the several foursomes at each tee!

As we left the 15 green and got to the 16 tee, we were advised on the cart screen that we’d have to bring the carts back before 17:30. Understandably, everyone rushed as much as possible to finish the round and our whole foursome was very annoyed. At a certain point the group behind us with whom by now we had become quite familiar, finally left the course and further expressed their frustrations as they passed by and said goodbye.

We are most definitely not going back to River Club. Too many other nice courses that don’t come with all of this drama. It’s not right

Didn't get there in time to warm up so the first couple of holes were practice. Said they had 24 ladies coming behind us. We were paired with a father and daughter from Ohio. We had a great time. The course can be difficult at times with the big fairway and greenside bunkers, but that's golf. The greens are in excellent shape for their age. and you could tell they are overseeding the tee boxes. (little hairy). Over all a great experience I would do again. Definitely worth the money. We finished with wings at the club. Food is good too.

We were expecting a challenging golf course and it didn’t disappoint us. It would have been a lot more fun if the weather had been much warmer and less windy! Because of the colder temperature (61°), we decided to play from the grey tees (5,400) yards instead of the 5,900 y + white tees. Are we glad we did. The undulating fairways and greens with the numerous & impressive bunkers means that you need to sharpen your game to navigate this course. The gps in the carts and the course chart book were extremely helpful. One or two greens had some bare spots but nothing too bad. They are working hard to make the repairs. The staff was friendly, a beverage cart was doing rounds and there are plenty of washrooms on the course. We had a great time, with a diverse wildlife and great scenery. Thank you!

River club never disappoints. From the pro shop to the 18th green it’s a great experience. Komodo’s to the entire staff for keeping the course in such nice shape!

Played the day before Thanksgiving and was very pleased at the pace of play and course conditions. I would recommend River Run to all skill level golfers. Staff was friendly, bar has a great vibe and the pro shop has all the extras you may have forgotten to bring.

If you can’t get the desired tee time here due to popularity, please try the sister club just down the street, greenfield plantation.

I have played this course many times over the
last 6 years and watched how it has come along. Tony has done a great job of fixing up
the course and has made many improvements.
I have never seen this course in excellent shape until my most recent round. The pace of play was slow.

The course is in the best shape I've seen it in a.LONG time. For the price this is the best value in town. Pace of play was fine and the food was good.

Give it a try

First time played this year, course has improved since we played 12 months ago. Nice layout, a couple of the tees and some patches of a couple of fairways were a bit soft but overall it's in a reasonable condition and will definitely play again within the next couple of weeks. We arrived before our tee time and went out straight away with no hold ups on the course until the last few holes where we caught a slow four ball. Good value for golf at this time of year.

We arrived to the second hole - par 3 - to find ourselves as the 4th 4-some on the hole (a 160 yd or so par 3). We had a flight to catch later in the day and the idea of this type of a glacial paced round did not appeal. Perhaps it was just the day, The gentleman in the pro shop was nice. Didn't see enough of the course to give it a grade but what I saw was commensurate with the cost.

River Club is a really nice layout where demanding small greens make up for minimal elevation change in terms of shotmaking. The course is on outstanding shape especially considering how dry it has been this year - very good irrigation all over. Pace of play was 4:25 which isn’t that bad for a weekend. Very friendly staff including marshals. This will be my regular upgrade from my usual home course and at GolfNow prices is an outstanding value compared with neighboring courses.
