The Preserve Golf Club at Tara features Ted McAnlis' par 72, championship golf course. Exceptional care was taken to protect and enhance wetlands and other natural features of the course. At just over 7,000 yards, the course offers four sets of tees, allowing players of all skill levels to enjoy a challenging round of golf. Eleven bridges span the many small streams running through the golf course, protecting natural waterfalls and wetland habitats. A unique feature is the 60 foot Mount Matthew, which sits between the driving zones of hole five and six and forms an impressive backdrop for the tee shot. A beautiful clubhouse is open for lunch daily and is perfect for seminars, banquets or receptions.

The course needs some work on the fairways, and trimming, etc. I see they are working on some new or renewed greens. I hate temporary greens, but, my buddy and I, who is a new player had a good time.

Great value.

Yes the greens are terrible but fairways are excellent, staff is great layout very challenging and interesting and great value.

Overall a super practice opportunity.

Uncooperative dry weather isn't helping with rebuilding permanent greens.

We had a great day out.

Great Imrovements Being Made

This course does not deserve the bad reviews it’s received; the management is making great strides to improve its playability.

Yes, most greens are temporary but they work OK, in fact better than some other local courses. The fairways are green, not dried out, and the course has a nice, very challenging design. The guys in the pro shop are honest, friendly and super accommodating as is the starter and Marshall. The price is right and is a good value for most.

You get what you pay for (but not quite)

I know $40 is cheap for a round of golf, but this course was NOT worth it. The poor experience starts right at the bag drop. There is no staff on hand. You drop your bag in front of the building at the top of a hill but then you have to carry your bag down to the carts. The bathrooms were closed for painting.

But it gets worse. The greens are in such terrible condition that they created temporary greens in the fairways about 20 yards short of the real green. These greens were typically about 12' wide so you can forget about sticking the green on approach and forget about reading the greens. Overall, it was a terrible experience.
