I enjoyed the course, everyone was friendly and cart girl made several stops while we played. The course has lots of doglegs and accuracy is important to score well.

Found most tee boxes in horrible shape. Edges of fairways in rough shape. Greens were pretty good. Tough course for moderate golfers anyway. These conditions made it worse.

After reading the mixed reviews on this course, I decided to take a chance and hope for the best. The Preserve is yet another Florida course that has been neglected and is disappointing in terms of poor fairways, barren areas around the greens, and greens that are down to total sand in many spots. This is why I am disgusted by the complete ripoff of snowbirds by many Sarasota area golf courses who charge lots of money for crappy conditions. You almost are forced to pay $75 or more for a well maintained layout. I don't like golf that much so I think I'll leave my clubs home next season and just play pickleball for free!

The course needs work on tee boxes , fairways and short rough (weed and feed). Was surprised the cart paths weren’t hard surface when driving on the cart paths the dust gets stirred up and hangs in the air, didn’t like that. Would play again but don’t think the course is really worth the current price.

I probably will not play there again. It really was not that much fun.

The course still needs a bit of work and TLC. Staff was great. Pacing was good.

Water on every hole! Layout is beautiful but tough. Fortunately, we have some locals playing with us and telling us where to aim. Saw two giant alligators on the course.

Good pace of play.

The course has seen some better days. A lot of the tee boxes were in rough shape as well as more bald spots in the fairway than I remember the last time playing it. Greens were running slow, but not horrible.

Staff is fantastic. Food was good. Value was a little overpriced, but that’s what I get for playing over the holidays in Florida.

I would still recommend this course to other for a decent deal and quick round. Hopefully the course will be restored to its former glory.

I played the preserve at Tara for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at the course conditions after reading some of the reviews. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were all in nice condition. The layout on the other hand was not for me. It was just too much target golf for my game. Water and woods were waiting for an errant tee shot putting the average hacker out of play on several holes. I'm also not a fan of the 90 degree doglegs on par 5's where a well struck tee shot can go thru the fairway and out of play. The course was nice, just not enjoyable for me.
