The Preserve Golf Club

Just terrible. 30 minutes late with an 11:52 tee time. Teed off at 12:20 because we had to wait for a senior league to go. The league was just slow and the staff catered to them. It took over 3 hours to play 9 holes and we were not able to get the back nine in so we left. This league acted as they owned the place and the staff let them get away with it. Forget The Preserve. No reason to go back and use Golf Now again.

When do we average golfers get a chance at that. Due to tee box work on one hole, that was the case and i came close to my second eagle ever. We had a laugh on that hole but the rest of the course tested our accuracy. Greens were forgiving, I didn't have to try the sand which was a good thing as it looked a little thin. For an 1153am tee time our pace was great.,

The tee boxes were in terrible condition. The layout was challenging due to the dryness of the course. It definitely is not a course that you can just wack the ball. I enjoyed the challenge.

Tara used to be one of our favorite courses in the Sarasota area, but no more. The course condition was, in a word, awful. My group is NOT made up of golf snobs, but the tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in poor condition. One tee box consisted of nothing but green sand!! The staff was cordial as usual, but even their friendliness couldn’t come close to making up for the conditions. We won’t be back unless we hear that the course has been transformed for the better. A real shame.

We found the fairways very thin. It does not appear that the course has been well maintained. Disappointing after our previous experiences here.

I will never play here again. The course was in horrible shape. Every green had fertilizer that was shaped like pebbles. We just stopped trying to putt. If you like putting on gravel, this course is for you!

First time playing the course. Water on both sides of the fairways made the course challenging.

The fairways were dry will many bare patches making fairway shots difficult. The dry conditions made it impossible to have tee shots not roll into trouble.

It was a very frustrating round

The greens had fertilizer on 'em that looked and affected putts like ground up rock salt! It was impossible to putt; we all missed 3 or 4 "gimmies" and weren't happy! Otherwise a pretty hood track.

The course has lots of potential. Played from black tees 6500 yards and found the landing areas fair. As you approached the greens the fairways narrowed so you need to be precise. Water was present seemingly on every hole and on both sides of the fairway. The course is not in great shape but it looks like they are attempting to bring it back to life. The staff was very friendly; starter Mike was very informative and the pro shop staff provided a hole by hole guide book that was quite helpful. I would recommend this course to mid to low handicap players that can get past the conditions and appreciate a great course layout. And watch out for the gators!

I was actually shocked at how poorly this course is maintained, and how they have the nerve to charge $70 per person!

Good greens, a lot of dormant areas, tees and fairways.
