About
Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

Course condition
Fairways were good, greens were excellent and sandtraps were poor.
Busy
Too busy on Friday, pace was very slow, stopped to get sandwiches and took way to long, was having a meeting and didn’t have enough help.
Got more than expected
The tee boxes and greens were in very good shape. The putting green was bumpy but on the course greens were running smooth. Pace was not an issue about 4 hours. Starter was very pleasant and personable. The surprise was running into a PGA great playing the course. The one and only JD, Mr. John Daly. He was playing a round and I happened to cross paths for a photo opportunity.
My partner said it's not a surprise seeing him here he said that he's seen him before out there.
Stopped in for a bite after the round and the 19th hole was very nice and the food was excellent and drinks were cold.

Clearwater Country Club
Great staff and course has Straight-forward layout. Nothing special but a very reasonable price to play on a regulation course.
Great shape in a long time.
Been playing this course for the past 15 years. It's local to where we stay.
I have to say that it was in the best condition that I have ever seen in all of these years. WELL DONE to all involved in the administration/running of this club.
Slow Play
Had a 9am tee time on a Sunday and there were already 4 groups waiting on the 1st tee. We didn’t tee off until after 9:30am. Greens were nice, some wet areas even though we haven’t really had rain in a couple weeks.
Play ended up being really slow, constantly waiting on each tee box with another group.
A gem with great staff
In for vacation and played this course twice. Staff was extremely friendly and course conditions were good. Nice practice facilities. Pace of play was a little slower but I was on vaca so I didn't care. If you are staying by the beach in the Clearwater area do yourself a favor and travel a bit to golf here. About a half hour ride from the shore.

Challenging but not too tough and in good condition some teas were moved up for Course Maintenance so wasn't accurate for my handicap but had fun
Wow big improvement
The repair work of t boxes greens and fairways makes the playing conditions top notch. Course could use more water hazards and dogleg holes. Not many troublesome trees.
There’re is enough sand and going long over the greens is very tough with the greens sloped sharply down coming back.
I highly recommend this course for a game where play is not hampered by poor conditions.
