About
Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

Worth playing
Tees were good, greens a bit slow, good traps. Pace was great. We played in 4 hours. Not a very long course from the tips.
Simple track
Not much to it! Not a lot of trouble!
Greens OK
Fairways OK
Problem pace if play! With tee times every 7 minutes and with everyone showing up it was 10 minutes behind at 9:30: We played a little over 4:40
When we got back they needed our cart and it was really backed up!
9 minute tee time would solve it.
4 hours for 9 holes
We didn't get onto the first tee box until 45 minutes after our tee time. The course was so backed up it took 4 hours to complete 9 holes.

Nice course, Slow Pace
Course was in good shape. Between the frost delay, a league holding available carts hostage and a group of two holding up pace of play (terrible golfers and one was taking a video of himself instead of putting and no ranger in sight), we were backed up five groups coming off of three. Decided after hole six that we’d be lucky to make the turn before dark, so we left. Staff was friendly, but knowing the situation, could have made decisions to prevent what I’ve described here.
Hopefully this is out of the ordinary for the course.
Lovely Day
Paired with a very friendly group who were tolerant of my mediocre game. Fairways were excellent, greens fast. Weather was perfect.
Disappointed
Had a 1:45pm tee time. They didn’t have carts available. So that put tee times behind. Ended up getting out around 2:10pm. Pace of play was super slow. Probably because the course was overbooked. Didn’t get to finish the 18 I paid for. On the way up to the club house there was a group of 8 on hole 18. No one in the clubhouse to talk to. Very frustrating day on the course.
