About
Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

Below average facility
Slow play. Old men hitting into you. No available facilities at 18th hole. Small driving range. Rock hard in many places. Awkward boring layout. Unattractive course. Super fast greens
Average course, friendly people
We played on a Monday, so there was no food available in the restaurant. I didn’t see a mention of that on the web site. Everyone was super friendly, but the course played painfully slow. Hit a shot…wait…hit a shot throughout the round. I’d love to see a few flowers to make the course more attractive.
Just okay
Front nine had some strange dressing on the greens. Back nine was much more playable. Better markings to find next hole would be helpful. The starter didn’t seem to know what was happening. Disappointed for the money.
Great Local Course
Great for locals has just enough challenges. If your expectations are Doral or private course conditions then you will be disappointed.
Not great managment of players
Course was in decent enough shape, though you are often being hit at in all directions--perhaps the result of it being an old course.
My main issue was how the tee times were managed. Major backups all day since twosomes, threesomes, singles, and foursomes were just thrown out there without much logic.
I was in a twosome and it took us over 5 hours for a round. No one was playing slowly, per se, but it's up to the course to pair up people properly and preserve a good pace of play.
Decent course. Lots of local play
I wouldn’t make this my first choice in the area but it wasn’t a bad course. Pace of play was fairly slow. You’ll see a lot of fivesoms and sixsomes on the golf course. Many locals play here and pretty much own the course. Course conditions were mediocre. Sat outside after our round to have a beer only to have some young kid taking the seats out from underneath us because he wanted to go home early. They need to teach their staff manners
It’s a great layout but they obviously need to put some money into the course. This is another golf course in the area that doesn’t believe in putting rakes in the traps, instead they put it in the back of your cart. Needless to say a lot of traps have numerous foot prints through them
