Clearwater Country Club
About
Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

Will have to try again
My wife and I had a 10:45am T time, we were held up in the first hole for 10 to 15 minutes due to a groups of six and the started called the two threesomes. However they played together. Which wasn’t terrible but it held us up we should have been through 18 holes by 2:00pm as we had an afternoon appointment so we ended up cutting our game short and at $40.00 per person it was a costly 9 holes.
Course was good and flow for a links course however many cannot keep their ball in their fairway . This happens but almost hit a couple times .
We will go back to play again and hope to get all 18 hioles.
Great public course
Great course for some elevation changes. Good shape and drains pretyy good for all the rain weve been having. Had a temp green for hole 18, assuming it was under repair. No biggy.
Not what I expected.
This course put the country in Country Club. Great staff, but the course was definitely underwhelming.
My home coirse
Great course, love it. I play here weekly, the only negative I experienced today is no staff to be found around. Went twice to pro shop and nobody was there even tho I waited few. Other than that I enjoyed my solo round.
Worst course I’ve ever played
Terrible conditions. Worst place I’ve ever played. Country club shouldn’t be in the name because it’s far from it. Pics online don’t even come close to what it’s really like
Fair for price paid
Greens were slow. Fairways were bare in spots. On course construction had tees moves up on two holes. Overall condition of course was fair.
Terrible Course
When you’re from out of town and you see the name “Country Club” you expect a decent experience. That’s s place was a dump!!!! The grass looked like it hadn’t been cut in a week. Greens were recently plugged in the middle of summer. A lot of ground under repair and bare spots in fairways. This place makes a “cheap” course in Denver look prime. The pictures online do not do this course justice.
Decent track
Early tee time, so course wasn’t crowded and got out easily. Course was in good shape overall, but some heavy repair and patchy in some spots - nothing mentioned until you’re already on course. At turn there was still no one in the grill after 9am and had to get the Pro Shop person to help and no cart staff offering drinks even on back 9. Bring your own water.
Clearwater country club
First 9 greens were terrible. Suspected under repair but not advised as such. Rougher was particularly bad but don’t know if it needed maintenance or that was their usual.
Disappointed After a Long Absence
I used to play Clearwater CC frequently, but have not played here for over 5 years. I was aware of the quirky layout on what is now the front nine holes and was prepared. However, I played as a single and followed a foursome where every player had his own cart. The group was very slow and deliberate, resulting in my having to wait on nearly every shot. Not once did they offer to let me play through. I realize it was probably a league in front of me, but some compromises should be made. The greens were extremely slow, with several on the front nine appearing to not having been mowed in several days. Some of the fairways had bare spots and weed patches. I got a fair price through GolfNow, but I will think hard about returning to what used to be an enjoyable course.
