Whispering Oak at Verandah

Old Orange is the easier of the two courses. Tee to green, well laid out with generous landing areas, the fun starts on the greens. You need to play a few times to know where to be on the greens or you could end up with a difficult 2 putt. The layout was very scenic and you should take in the beauty to really add to the enjoyment of the day. A stop at the lounge after the round is a bonus, the outside deck is a great place to review the round with your buddies.

We were greeted by the outdoor staff promptly and professionally. The golf shop staff was friendly, professional and accomodating. The golf course was in excellent condition, particularly the greens. Great speed and rolled true. Would highly recommend Whispering Oak and Verandah. All of the staff was friendly and courteous. Enjoyed the round of golf and our fellow golfnow.com playing partners.

Only one word can describe this course: Fantastic!

Wide open, but undulating fairways. Green are fast, but true and smooth. I am a 4.4 index and I shot 77 my first time out, great course for the money!!

We were very impressed with the ride into the course and the course itself. It is well kept and not only challenging but forgiving too. There are expansive landing areas and target golf may be something you need to consider on many of the holes. The holes are interesting and keep you thinking. My only complaint is that the ladies tees for par 3's are MUCH too short. There is no reason why they can't lengthen the holes for ladies to a more realistic distance. Overall, we loved it.

Nice course with championship greens. In a golf community with no houses on the course which I like. The bag drop people were the rudest I have ever encountered and I'm a very polite Midwesterner. Great weather!

Staff was friendly and the surroundings are very pleasant to look at. Course was in great shape. The holes are fun to play and the greens were in excellent condition and rolled true.

The course will play much easier after you learn where you can and cant hit the ball. my only knock is that they should have GPS on carts. other than that, no complaints.

This course (Whispering Oak) was in great condition and enjoyable to play from even the back tee box. Not much trouble comes into play anywhere on this layout. Greens can be difficult if you're on the wrong section relative to the pin location. Only negative remark. It would be nice if they offered a way to pair up individual players in order to create no less than twoesomes. I played as a single and although the pace was fine (3.5 hrs), I waited on every shot. Besides,the game is generally more fun when playing in a group!

Inside staff wonderful -- outside staff shady and not very competent. Course very good. greens outstanding.

the surrounding nature is stunning, would be worth to have the camera handy. Golfcourse and staff make the day on the golfcourse a perfect treat.

Course was in good but not perfect condition. Greens were recently fertilized so a bit slower than normal. That's understandable. Otherwise, The Whispering Oaks Course is a good challenge and fun to play. Typical Nicklaus signature Layout.

Wide an forgiving fairways, but very challenging around the green. The greens are extremly fast and some pin positions are very challenging. You will be very happy with 2 Putts.

Well maintained, visually appealing. Good choice of tees (5) allows you to play the course from moderate to very challenging. Staff was very friendly. Enjoyed the experience.

Typical Nicklaus design, many bunkers, waste areas an very ondulated greens. Wide fairways. Everything well maintained.
