Whispering Oak at Verandah

It was fun to play this course, until you get to the greens! Putting in the mountains, a new experiance, anyway, I would recommend the course to friends.

I thought this was an excellent course and is well worth playing.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Veranda Golf Club Wispering Oak course in Ft Myers. The course was in great shape and the greens were awesome. It was very windy during our round but after a few holes, playing with two fellows from Germany My partner and I had a good time. The wind beat us up pretty good, but the course was great.

Except for the high wind, which added to the challenge of the course, my wife and I had a great experience today. The course is in the best condition I have seen it. The pace of play was exceptionally good. Despite being only a twosome, we did not feel we spend a lot of time waiting. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We recommend the course to anyone looking for a great afternoon.

The fairways are plush and greens in excellent condition. Some degree of difficulty, but fairways and greens are rather large. Plenty of hazards, waste areas in fairways and greens are bunkered with the greens having much undulation. Hit in the fairways and proper side of green and you can score. Hit into the waste area, bunkers or wrong side of the green and big numbers will be on your card. One of the nicest courses I have played in SW Fla. and paid twice as much at those others. 5 stars does not give it justice, its worth 7 or 8. I have been on and played a few of the courses that the PGA plays on and this one compares with a PGA course.

Great course in really nice shape, played well, not very difficult but yet challenging. Greens were a little sandy which played with putts a little. Can't wait to play again or try other course.

After 3 hours and 15 minutes, we were just completing 13th hole. Quit at that point. Way too slow play to enjoy round.

You can have a high score here without taking a penalty stroke. Three putts are frequent. Course is very well tended. There is water on the course but no clubhouse at the turn of these 18 holes in the back of the Verandah property.

Whispering Oak is a great course! The tee boxes are set up great for long hitters or short hitters that don't want to be hitting over water constantly. The greens can be tough, and sometimes yardage is hard to find. Recommend you bring GPS so you have better idea. The course is beautiful and is in beautiful shape! Will come back eventually if they keep giving out great values. Thanks

The Jack Nicholas course has wide fairways, greens with a lot of ups and downs which make for a fun day on the greens. But is was a beautiful course and a fun day.

The course was in very good condition. The greens were about a 6 out of 10 with regard to speed but some were very difficult. The rough was tough to get out of so you want to be in the short grass. Great practice facilities although it is a trek from the clubhouse to the practice areas and the first tee. In summary, the course is beautiful and challenging. One tip is the western entrance is closed so go in the main entrance to the development.

I had a moderately early tee time, but arrived nearly an hour early and the starter allowed me to start about 40 minutes before my tee time. I played through 1 group on the 5th tee, and finished my 18 holes in under 2 hours.
Nice course, but make sure you arrive with your shirt tucked in, or else you'll be berated by every person on staff until you do. They thought my untucked shirt was in poor taste, while I thought their tact was in poor taste. Publicly humiliating your customers, repeatedly, is not a way to win over their continued business.

this course is always in great playing condition. I would reccommend this course to everyone.

Great course. We played the Oaks course. Views and course were super. Greens a little sandy. Would definitely play there again, probably try the orange course.

fairways are tight but the course evens itself out with below average difficulty on the greens
