stay out of the water and don't hit over the green Photo submitted by fishinmission on 03/17/2013
Needs work
The course layout is exceptional, the greens although look good the front nine speed were decent but the back nine were pretty slow. As for the fairways you are better off hitting from the ruff. A lot of areas where the grass is so thin that you are hitting on dirt
Gem
This course is a gem out in the country. Narrow fairways and smaller greens creates a challenging 18.
Hard to stay on fairways
Most of the fairways were sloped and if you are not aware of it, you can find a great drive down the middle in the rough or even the water on some holes. Fairways were in poor shape, but tee box and greens were mostly very good. Resturant Ian’s bar look brand new and very roomy. A few long Pat threes were also a challenge.
Good course with tough Par 3s
This course is very challenging when played from the blue tee. Most of Par 3's were pretty long from the blue tee. The greens were in excellent shape and I really like the course track.
Slow greens. Need to get more grass on this course
Do not waste your time or money here
I just played Indianwood for the second time. This was the absolute worst golf experience I’ve ever had. Booked a tee time for 2:15pm. When I arrived to the course I was informed by the lady in the shop that there is a scramble tournament going on, and I would have to play the back 9. This was not a problem, but would have liked to know this before arriving to the course. After I hit some balls on the range, I went back in to return the basket, and the woman said that she was just informed that it was really backed up on the back, but “she can’t help it”. I responded by asking if I could simply play behind the tournament on the front, I didn’t mind playing a little slower if I could just play the full 18. She responded in a very disrespectful manner by saying “absolutely not”. I then went out to start the back 9, and played 1 hole in 45 minutes, so decided to pack my stuff and leave. Very poor management, not to mention the fact that this is the worst kept course I’ve ever played. Fairways are terrible, no sand in bunkers, and greens are slow. For $40 (the price at Indianwood), you can play at much nicer courses in the area. Do not waste your time here.
Nice but...
Love the layout! Great short course! Needs a little love. They invested alot of money on there new resturant. Very nice! Staff at Pro Shop, Starter and Resturant make you fill welcomed ! Hope one day à major invester would take over.
Course needs work
Course needs work from tee to green. The tee box I was on was shaggy and thick. It needed to be cut and manicured. Fairways are getting very thin with bare spots and very thin grass. Some of the bunkers were hard packed sand and needed dug out a little to break up the sand. Greens were ok with only a couple having some brown spots. Greens were pretty slow and could have been rolled better. If you paid more than $40 for this course you paid too much. Kudos to the staff. The woman in the clubhouse was friendly even though they lost power.
