Cypress Course at Stonegate Golf Club
About
The Cypress Course is one of two 18-hole, championship courses at Stonegate Golf Club at Solovita. The course has a player-friendly layout with ample fairways and bunkers that are large but generally low lipped. There are some challenges that should not be taken too casually though, including sloped, elevated greens that are heavily guarded and water hazards on fourteen holes. The golf course is known for having scenic par-3 holes that are particularly difficult from the back tees. In addition to the two golf courses, Stonegate Golf Club at Solovita offers practice facilities that include a targeted grass driving range, putting green, and practice bunkers.

Fun Course
The course was soft from the previous night's down pour as it was cart path only. thus if you don't hit the ball straight you can have a good deal of walking to do, as was the case. the greens were soft and speeds fairly consistent.
Cypress Course
The Cypress is a challenging but playable course. It was our first time playing here and thanks to the starter we were paired with a single member of the club. It would have been a challenge to find our way to some of the holes otherwise. Finished during happy hour and enjoyed a refreshing cold beverage. All staff were pleasant and extremely helpful.
review
For February the course and greens were good.
pace of play was slow just under five hours
cypress stonegate
Fairways are often sloped to the water or woods, making for tight conditions . Greens are nice. Some doglegs are confusing for first timers.
Great course
Very nice, would play it again, good challenge, must keep it straight, nice dog legs, keeps you thinking the entire round.
Excellent experience, unique course & development
I played as a single and the starter (Michael) went above and beyond to ensure I was paired with a compatible group. I've never had better service from a starter. Cart attendants were very helpful also. The Cypress Course has a mix of slightly tighter holes with good variety and also 4-5 holes with wider fairways. Greens putted nicely for this time of year. Most sand traps had washout from heavy rain a week or so ago. Fairways very tight. Some long cart rides between groups of holes but the routes were well signed. Note, this course does not come back to the clubhouse after 9 so take some drinks and snacks along. Most challenging part of the experience was finding my way out of this gated development. This might be my favorite course out of the dozen or so I've played in the Kissimmee area.
Over played
This is a good layout but these courses are over played. Don't know why they let outside play. The greens were beat up. It's a retirement community so the play is very slow.
Disappointed
The corse was great, the only problem we had was try to get seated on our arrival for a coffee. When we came in off the corse we were going to eat but again waited and was ignored to get seated so we left.
Very scenic layout
Course had 3 inches of rain a few days before we played that washed out the sand in most of the bunkers. Other than that, very nice course and a good value. Saw several alligators in the ponds.
No Carts
When we showed up for our tee time, there were no golf carts available. We had to wait for groups to come off of 18. The staff did what they could to get carts as quickly as possible. We teed off 40 minutes after our scheduled tee time.
Usually carts are not an issue.
Consistent course conditions.
Bothe Cypress and Oaks are kept in consistently good shape and the Hot Deals are good values.
great course
great coarse we will be back well laid out interesting holes only a few short par 3
Fabulous time
The staff & restaurant people were very professional & the food was great. The golf course reminded me of a spectacular facility back home, of which I highly recommend, With that being said, I highly recommend Stonegate CC!! Thank you for the fabulous experience!
golf with nature
Well kept facility.Course was in excellent condition.First three greens were slow, but the rest were fine. Some tight tee shots.Plenty of sand and water.Par three's on the back side have forced water carries.Look for gators and other wildlife during your round.
Played a second round three days later. The greens were much faster,so I made a few putts.
Sand and Water
If you cannot play out of the sand this course will eat you up. Almost every hole has fairway bunkers and if ball control is not your strength you will find them. Green conditions are excellent and run smooth and true. The community attached to the course is right out of a European village, quite nice.
Great discovery
First time there and was a treat to play. Course plays quite long, so if you decide to play from the back tees, make sure you can carry at least 265. Wide fairways and strategic bunker placements around the greens make it
more of a challenge. Geens were a bit unpredictable but hey, this time of year is to be expected. If I had one issue ( gotta have one) they should at least identify the centre/150 yard marker to the green. It would help set up the tee shot better.
