About
Lake Wales Country Club boasts a classic Donald Ross design that players of all skill level will enjoy. Built in the 1920s, the golf course has a different look and feel than most modern courses. Rather than exaggerated hazards and dramatic contouring, the layout blends seamlessly into the natural landscape. The routing of each hole was determined by the existing contours. Like many of Ross' designs, the phrase "hard par, easy bogey" holds true here. The layout features small greens with crown centers that are sloped back to front. Rough borders the fairways and the wide-openness of the course means that wind will often be a factor. Lake Wales C.C. is a challenging but straightforward golf course. There are no trick holes but there are several holes that will make you think.

Greens were amazing but the rest of course wasn’t really taken care of. I enjoyed the course itself but over priced with these conditions.
NO Grass in Fairways
Most all Fairways was nothing more than dirt and clumps of turf ....we had to move our golf balls up to 20 feet just to hit off some grass like conditions....Irrigation is something this course has not heard of!!!!
Nice layout but very, very poor conditions
The greens are in pretty good conditions and every other part of the course is very bad condition. Bunkers not raked….hard packed sand. Sand everywhere around the perimeter of the traps. Weeds and no grass throughout 75% of the fairways, rough and tee boxes. Have to move you ball 5-10 feet sometimes just to find grass to hit from.
Nice Layout, but
This course has a very nice layout unfortunately the conditions of the course are lacking at this time. The tee boxes, fairways and sand traps are all in need of repair. The greens are in great shape which is the one saving grace for the course.
Good value open course
Excellent greens and wide fairways so it’s hard to lose a ball unless you are well off line. We were a twosome so starter kindly put us out early ahead of several four balls so we had a lovey relaxing game and didn’t have to wait on on holes either. Green relatively small and well protected by bunkers so you need a good short game to score well.
Green very good and quick. . Some interesting pins . worth a visit and value for money excellent
Course conditions
I felt the course was in very good condition. Sand traps were taken care of. Fairways were in good condition.
In summary very satisfied with our golf.
Very happy to recommend this course we have played it a number of times this year and pleased to say its improved each time.
