About
Links of Sandpiper in Lakeland offers a traditional links layout that sprawls across rolling terrain. The course is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels to enjoy but it has enough challenges for more advanced players as well. The course is anything but flat, and the ups and downs are the most challenging element you'll encounter. The small, undulating greens and narrow landing areas off of the fairways demand accuracy. Combined with elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers, proper club selection and course management also play important roles. Picking the right lines from the tees into the greens requires careful thought. You'll face a few blind shots thanks to the rolling terrain and there are also several bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. Links of Sandpiper's final four holes are the toughest stretch.

Golf Now Sucks
My son got tee time first as a guest on golf now. He had wrong time so I got tee time through golf now and told him to cancel. Both our tee times got canceled. Lost a total of $17 just on their bull fees. Found out they double booked at the course. There use to be savings and convenience going through Golf Now. I will never use them again.

Definitely needs to have a ranger
Have played this course many times before and can be a it slow at times. But, yesterday was ridiculous. 2 groups of 4 young men ( whom I sure are perfectly nice young men) held up the whole course. We were waiting on every shot, while they preceded to play from the back tees when their golf was not of that standard. We fortunately mangled to get in front of them ( they went into the bar) and we were on the 11th before we saw anybody in front of us and they were coming back down on the 16th. 5 holes clear. Does nobody teach the young the etiquette of golf anymore.

Golf
Pace of play was very slow. Greens okay
Should have ranger moving things along.

Get a new starter
Been playing here for a couple of years now. Yesterday might be my last.
The starter was not a nice man. . He forced my partner and I to start our round early and put us with another two guys.
When asked why, he was belligerent and power mad. Told me that he was trying to keep his pace of play moving along and because I used this app, I had to go with the others as well.
I told him that was incorrect, and the reason I book so late in the day was to assure my brother in law and I could golf alone. Since he lives in Winter Park, I love Tampa. The course is middle ground for us.
I also asked who was behind us and when. He told me to get on the tee box.
There was no one and I mean no one who followed us until we were at the turn.
Oh!! Did I mention, when our foursome got to the third hole, there was a logjam. In front of us was a FIVESOME waiting on a foursome waiting on a couple all in front of us. Ridiculous and totally uncalled for. Pace of play was shot for the font nine and we could not get into a groove.
Very very dissatisfied with the day.
Most visits here have been very good from proper staff and food to pace of play and course conditions.
But this starter needs to be removed.
Last note, once I hit my tee shot on one, he had the nerve to get out of his chair and confront us once again. I give the day a ZERO.
Make the change or refund my 80+ dollars. You may have lost a couple of customers. And I talk with many golfers.

Local Knowledge NB.
We played the course paired with another first time player. The layout strongly favours local knowledge. Surprisingly it is referred to as a links style course. I grew up in the home of links golf and find the reference a bit of a stretch.. The greens are quite good and the sand traps well kept. It would be helpful if a blower were used to clear leaves from the fairways. I have indicated that I would recommend the course to a "friend". I qualify this to mean a friend who is a reasonably good golfer.
