About
Links of Sandpiper in Lakeland offers a traditional links layout that sprawls across rolling terrain. The course is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels to enjoy but it has enough challenges for more advanced players as well. The course is anything but flat, and the ups and downs are the most challenging element you'll encounter. The small, undulating greens and narrow landing areas off of the fairways demand accuracy. Combined with elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers, proper club selection and course management also play important roles. Picking the right lines from the tees into the greens requires careful thought. You'll face a few blind shots thanks to the rolling terrain and there are also several bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. Links of Sandpiper's final four holes are the toughest stretch.

Average course. Slow play
No starter or anyone managing pace of play. They let a group of 5 go out that ruined it for everyone all day. Course very narrow. Holes on top of each other. Almost hit several times

Booking Error
I booked a tee time for a single golfer for 7:45am. I arrived at 7:35am and was ready to tee off at 7:43am, except they decided to let four groups of four tee off ahead of me ON MY tee time. I ended up having to skip the first four holes and start on hole 5. This wouldn't have been a problem had the person at the desk told me this, then I would've asked to start on hole 10 and circle back for the front 9.

No Golfshot Readings
The course is good. Greens played true, fairways were cut well. The only complaint was that Golfshot and other distant assistants did not work or load on this course since hole modifications were made.

Decent course
Not a bad course. A little tight and hilly for a newbie like me but not a bad course.

Great golf!
Played with 8 buddies. Quirky layout. Greens were in good shape with sneaky breaks. No driving range. Large warm up net, putting and chipping greens. Staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. They were genuinely happy to see you. This course was an hour from my home , one way, but worth the drive. For a good time, play this course!

Interesting
First time. Played 18 holes in 2:45 on a Thursday. Pro shop great. Course is first time tricky. Really need a course book. Risky penalty area locations , fairways not well defined and greens a little rough but putt true.
