About
Links of Sandpiper in Lakeland offers a traditional links layout that sprawls across rolling terrain. The course is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels to enjoy but it has enough challenges for more advanced players as well. The course is anything but flat, and the ups and downs are the most challenging element you'll encounter. The small, undulating greens and narrow landing areas off of the fairways demand accuracy. Combined with elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers, proper club selection and course management also play important roles. Picking the right lines from the tees into the greens requires careful thought. You'll face a few blind shots thanks to the rolling terrain and there are also several bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. Links of Sandpiper's final four holes are the toughest stretch.

Frustrating
I play from the golds. The front 9 was fun but the back 9 was impossible to stay out of the water for an average golfer. I finally gave up after hole 14
Great value
Course is in good condition, with few areas needing help (back nine) . Owner is stepping up and course is improving .

Extremely slow play
Slow play. 5 1/2 hrs and we left with 3 holes to play!
Greens in bad condition but it looks like it could be a nice course.

interesting day of golf
More than anything else I have to commend Jamie in the pro shop. Super nice guy who accommodated our group and went above and beyond to make sure we had a terrific experience. As for the course, it is an interesting layout. The front 9 is the easiest 9 in all of florida. It is short even from the tips with 3 par 5s that are all reachable in 2 shots. It was an extremely forgiving 9 holes where even with missed shots you could rally a par. Then the turn reveals a totally different 9 hole experience. The back is all about placement with hidden fountains that will eat your ball if you arent aware of the layout. I was only able to pull out the driver on 2 holes on the back 9. Overall a very enjoyable round granted the greens were not in good shape they were bouncy and bare but for the price it was a good pick. With the cold weather recently it was completely understandable even Disney is struggling to keep their greens up to par at the moment.

Nice Condition-Nice Golf Course
Conditions are pretty good. Good tees and fairways. Greens are pretty patchy. GPS doesn't work on many parts of the course. Glad they changed #18 to a par 3 in order to free-up the area next to the 17th green.

Impressed
Played here last year and it wasn’t very good. This year it is much improved. Front nine needs a bit of work to better define the holes. Backside has good greens and is in pretty good shape. Keep up the good work. The staff is very friendly, loved the bar.Waitress/bartender was very good and very nice. A good experience on a very cold day.

Just ok place
Although nothing special, it is a course you can play. Despite the crowded feel, it is golf. Several holes are just squeezed together which really bottle necks the play.

They have done a lot of work here at Sandpiper and it shows. The Club House and Restaurant are very clean. The Staff is first class. We will continue to play here. It’s becoming our favorite places to play. Oh!, the pro shop guys are great, especially Jammie !

My first time on this course. Very unlike so many of the flat Florida courses. Nice layout and pretty well kept. Would definitely return to play again
