South Course at Big Cypress Golf & Country Club

Golfed st noon n play was at a good pace. Many groups with several diff t off areas n course still was at a good pace

I almost hate to write this review. I want to keep it as my little secret. But I found this hidden gem because of other favorable reviews, so fair is fair. The course is tucked into an over 55 community of so as you drive in you think....."this is a going to be a cow pasture". I was wrong this is a beautiful layout, well maintained and challenging as even from the senior tees (which unfortunately I must play these days due to a bad back that has taken care of my 250 yard drives). The Ron Garl layout offers a challenge for the long hitters from the tips (I played with two young guys who got their behinds handed to them) as well as us short hitters from the 6000 yard layout. The course is in good shape. The greens are in great condition, fast and with enough subtle breaks to give you fits. On top of that the people in the community are really nice. My only complaint was pace of play. It was slow. But that is my problem since I am a fast player. It was a 4.5 hour round but the course makes up for it.

I will be back.

I play the South course and it was manicured very nicely. Fairways were great and the greens were some of the best greens I have played on in Florida. The ball rolled on the smooth green surface. I will definitely play this golf course again and soon.

Greens were in great condition and rolled true. My tee time was just before noon so the morning groups were far enough ahead I didn't have to wait on anyone for the entire round. Fairways were in good condition as well. The bunkers I ended up in on a few holes did give me some problems. This is a really nice course I will play again when I'm back in the area.

Big Cypress south course can be a challenging golf course, staying in the fairway is key. If you can manage that, then you have a chance on hitting the greens. Once on the greens it on, the greens are well kept and true.

Very pleasantly surprised by both the layout and the conditions at this course. It was about a 45-minute drive from our condo in the southwest part of Orlando (Davenport) and well worth the drive. Very friendly staff, good pace of play and an interesting layout. Some of the Orlando-area courses are still recovering from the hurricane, but the greens here were terrific. Highly recommend.

The course was in great condition including fairways and greens. The greens were a little quick but rolled true with some subtle breaks.

Overall it was a very good value for the money!

Course was quite nice, North of Lakeland. Greens were extremely true for putting. Hardly anyone playing on this day, so it was a pleasant experience.

I have lived in the Tampa area for 6 years now and only wish I had played this course sooner. The layout is challenging, yet fair. Greens roll true but not too fast. The fairway felt plush underfoot. The rough was manicured and tough to deal with, which added to the character of the course. It has some spectacular views throughout the course. The biggest surprise was that it sits inside a gated (with a security guard) mobile home park. The best one I've ever seen, and they have resort style amenities inside the park. I will definitely be back.

Thought the course may be somewhat damaged from the storm, the course was in excellent condition. Pace of play was great and greens rolled well.

Hit it just right, course looked really good wasn't crowded pace was good, wasn't that wet greens rolled true and got a good deal. Had a good round going till the last 2 holes but that's golf.
