Plantation Palms Golf Club

Pros:

- nice layout, good mix of water/traps/elevation (for Florida)

- greens were smooth and ran true

- low cost

Cons:

- lacking in grass throughout course (greens, fairways, tee boxes). It is the dry season in FL, but grass quality much lower than other courses played in the last few weeks

- traps were rocky and did not appear to be maintained recently

- pace of play was slow considering all players had their own carts due to virus constraints

Great course with a challenging layout. Super friendly staff and the course is handling the Corona precautions well. You can tell they are working hard on improving the greens that were still very good. All of this and then you factor in the price.....outstanding!!

Course starts with a par 5 which is challenging from the start. The greens are fast and true and the fairways are decent.

I’ve been trying to play all of the courses in the Tampa area and this one has always been on my list, but for the longest time poor reviews kept me away. Finally, new reviews made it seem like they had turned it around so I gave it a try. It was a great day! Fairways, tees, and bunkers are as expected for the price you pay. Greens are quick and firm but could use some maintenance around the edges. But the layout and service was fantastic. Every hole made you think and you were punished for poor decisions. The pro shop and staff were very friendly and made it clear that they were doing all they could to keep their golfers safe during this crazy time.

Great course yet a challenge on some courses.

Would for sure come back.

One of the best in Tampa for the price.

Good local course and great value. The fringes of some greens were in rough shape but didn't effect play much and you could tell they were trying to improve it. Sand traps could use more fine sand base. I'm an occasional golfer and my group had a great time.

This course has been redesigned and is a great challenge. Greens are well protected and raised. Cart girl was awesome. Staff and starter very friendly. Nice driving range to warm up on. Although the greens had been sanded, they were still very playable and rolled true. The back 9 is much prettier than the front and more fun. Can't beat this place for the price! Very enjoyable round.

Course was open without restaurant due to pandemic. Pro shop was open and gave hand wipe for golf cart. Course was in very good shape, quick greens but receptive to mid to high irons. Cart Person was around the entire round as water stations were empty, 1$ for water was fair. Great course and very appreciative that the course and the staff were able to keep course open when everything else is shutting down.

Rolling mounds and raised greens set this course apart from all the 40$ and below courses this is a must play!

This course needs a player assistant (ranger)the guys a head of us drove near the greens and tees and quite often would hit more than one ball because they had a bad shot we saw this cause we waited on every shot of theirs the course it self is fine

Based upon most courses in the area, this one is one of the better. Condition is ok but most courses in this price range are not nearly as nice.

Typical landscaping problems this time f year in Central Florida. Most greens were in good shape. Some holes had hardpan around greens. I like the layout, you had to place your shots - not just grip it and rip it. The greens were undulating and in some cases two-level. Fun to play. Try it - you'll like it!

First time playing Plantation since the renewal..Always a great layout and a true test of golf. The greens need attention along with the sand but otherwise it looks and plays great!

Fast greens and tough pins, mixed with a bit of a breeze made for a challenging day!
