Plantation Palms Golf Club
About
Plantation Palms Golf Club, designed by David Harman, provides every Tampa golfer with a challenging and rewarding golf experience. The links-style design starts with a welcoming par 5, and then slowly steps up with a mixture of strong par 3s. Just 10 minutes north of Tampa, this course was carved a 400-acre citrus grove that slopes from west to east, providing interesting elevation changes. Water is in play on 17 of 18 holes. Plantation Palms Golf Club has an attractive framing of greens by the use of pine trees, water and large snow-white sand traps. The true-rolling elevated greens have good movement and are a challenge for golfers.

Very playable
Nice layout. Plenty of holes to test your driver. Nice elevated greens to test your wedges. Greens are good, getting much better. Went early in the morning so it wasn’t too packed. I will play here more
Slow
Slow play hindered the round. After 4 hours with 5 holes left we decided to quit. No cart for beverage the round either.
Fairways need work. Very hard and sparse grass. Greens were very fast and rough in areas.
The course has come a long way since re-opening
The course is in good shape but the greens are fantastic and fast. The Pro shop staff is fantastic!!! My only complaint is with the lady in Mulligans (Kelly I think her name is)...very rude. It was very busy and I stopped in to grab a drink on the turn , waited several minutes, ran to bathroom, came back and she still wasn’t there. I didn’t go behind the bar just reached over and grabbed some ice. Well she walked in and literally yelled at me. After I explained to her that she wasn’t there either before or after I ran into the restroom, she called me a liar. I don’t usually get angry unless my integrity is questioned. I would have given one star for the staff but don’t think the others deserved it.
Grounds crew needs to realize they are on a golf course
#8 five guys cutting down brush never stopped the chainsaw yipping and laughing approach chip and put.
#11 tractor full throttle from tee to Green no only during my shot but the gentlemen on the tee box. When I get to my shot by the green I can hear "haha you get in trouble" "yeah" "haha awesome".
#12 tee shot still here the two laughing and getting on.
#15,16,17 guy rolling Greens never shut off his machine and could hear him rolling up on me on 17.
Come on... Next time your hiring ask for a handicap maybe they'll understand the game.
Getting There
The course is trending in the right direction after reopening. It’s in great shape for the money.
Excellent Course - Still work to do.
Course is a wonderful layout. The tees, fairways and greens are n very good shape. Bunkers still need work but continues to improve since the first time I played 3 months ago. You will enjoy your round, the ranger keeps a good pace and the starters will give you time to get off and going.
Nice course for the money. Fairways are hard and dry. Greens were fast at the first of February.
Not expected improvements!
Last visit 2-3 years ago, just after re-opening, was hoping to see more improvements. Sand traps not very good, fairways were average and greens still need TLC.Ranger ager was useless, said he couldn't make singles double up to offset back ups. ??? Guess we'll try course next year, hope it recovers better than this visit.
Keeps getting better
We play this course frequently since it is close to home. The layout is challenging and shot placement is a must. We have seen great improvement in the conditions each time we play. Sand traps still need some work along with the greens however the fairways are filling in nicely. Definitely worth the price to play.
Solid course
This is a good course to play. Fairways and tees were in good shape. The greens are “a work in progress”. The perimeter of every green had been sanded - sometime too heavily. But other than that, the layout was good – with some loooong par 3’s. We’ll definitely play again. The staff was friendly, and helpful. Mulligan’s, the 19th hole, is nice.
most of the course was good, few spot were bad with no grass.
Nice course
This course has lots of great holes there are plenty of spots to put yourself into trouble so play smart and enjoy
Planation Palms
Course was in great shape... Greens were fast in spots... Especially if you were left with a down hill down grain putt...
Some tough par three's..... With a very tough finishing hole...
Enjoyed it today
A good course to play
I quite often play by myself but today I was paired up with 3 great guys , they welcomed me along and we had a great day . The course was much dryer than the last time I played it ,and the greens were in good shape (other than the outer edges that were marked ) When you play this course be ready to place some of your shots. Play this course and have some fun !
Great course for the money but can be busy at times
Great course for the money and is truly fun to play. It can be very busy and the pace can be miserable but can't beat the price for the conditions. So clear out 4 hours for your round and count on playing with a random person or 3. But overall a great experience.
