About
Plantation Palms Golf Club, designed by David Harman, provides every Tampa golfer with a challenging and rewarding golf experience. The links-style design starts with a welcoming par 5, and then slowly steps up with a mixture of strong par 3s. Just 10 minutes north of Tampa, this course was carved a 400-acre citrus grove that slopes from west to east, providing interesting elevation changes. Water is in play on 17 of 18 holes. Plantation Palms Golf Club has an attractive framing of greens by the use of pine trees, water and large snow-white sand traps. The true-rolling elevated greens have good movement and are a challenge for golfers.

Course needs a lot of work.
Greens are rough with bare spots, sand traps are hard dirt with no sand & some fairways have little to no grass in spots.
Getting better
The course conditions are still a bit rough, although better than a couple weeks ago. Fairways and some greens still need work. Very interesting and challenging course. Hopefully once the weather cools a bit, the course will recover.
Would never go back
The course is in brutal shape, the greens look like they haven’t been cut all year and the fairways are the same as the rough. The staff does not adhere by tee times. We had a 9:45 tee time and didn’t get to tee off till after 10 while they let 4 groups without tee times go out ahead of us. Took 6 hours to play 18. For a cheap price it still isn’t worth the money.
Not a 4 star more like a 1 star
The course looked like it hadn't been cut for at least two weeks the fairways were as long as the rough and I am sure the wetness was because of all the rain but that tells me that the course doesn't drain very good. I will never play it again in the summer I will try it again later in the year. I lost 4 balls not because of my shot because thay plugged.
Goat ranch
The course conditions we horrible and not represented by GokfNow accurately. I drove 45 minutes to play a course that I had played 15 year earlier that no longer represented the same coarse. Unknowingly, the course had closed for several years and only recently reopened. The fairways and tee boxes we infested with weeds and indistinguishable from the rough. The traps were dirt. The course had very poor drainage and most shots ended up plugged. The greens were furry and slow. What waste of time to play. No refund available making me reevaluate my membership and using GolfNow going forward.
In rough shape but on its way
I played this course a couple times. Once when I was visiting and then once more when I moved here. Being less that 10 minutes form my house I was looking forward to playing the course more and more, however the conditions really hurt the reputation. There are numerous spots on the course that are overgrown and the greens roll slow. To be fair I had been told that they closed down and grew to weeds not long before I had played so all things considered I could see this course coming back to great playing shape. It just isn't there yet.
Potential is There to be GREAT
We enjoyed our round but would have loved it had the course been in better shape. Weeds prevailed in the roughs and the sand traps were nearly devoid of sand. We will be back when we learn that these issues have been remedied.
Fun round
This is one of our favorite courses in the area. The layout is challenging and the staff are great. We are happy to see the conditions continue to improve. Always a fun round.

Keeps getting better
We continue to see improvement in the conditions of the course. Very challenging layout and a fun course to play. Pace was slow which is to be expected at this time of year. The staff is always great. One of our favorite courses.
Challenging course but great fun
Set in a beautiful area in Land O Lakes Florida, this course is well laid out with lots of water and some interesting par3 holes. Not for beginners however as there are some long over hazard and water shots that require good iron skills. My sister did not like the course because of this.
Also some of the holes are close to houses and can be easily hit (ask me how I know!) so accuracy is required.
The staff were friendly and helpful and there’s even a mini putt on the premises which is good for budding enthusiasts and families. .
