Lake Worth Beach Golf Club

About
Lake Worth Beach Golf Club borders the Intracoastal Waterway for just over a mile. There is no shortage of scenic courses in south Florida but this one still manages to stand out. Many of the holes run parallel to the Intracoastal, offering beautiful views and a cooling breeze. The golf course has a classic Florida layout. At just over 6,100 yards, it is not a long course but it still manages to feel like one. There is strategic bunkering along the greensides and water hazards come into play on a few holes. With generous fairways and no forced carries, it is accommodating enough for a range of skill levels but it still offers a fair challenge. The golf course offers a quick and challenging round for more advanced players but gentle enough for beginners.

It should not have been playable. The time that I played it was underwater, 75% places were not being able to be cut. Because there is 3 inches of water still on the horse. Lost balls of 4 but a nice layout. That probably is a good course to play when it's dry. Have no regrets paying 10 bucks
poor condition
course was in bad shape. tees were uneven. dead grass trimmings were left all over the fairway. greens full of divot patched by mounds of sand which was very weird. i believe this course could be one of the best if it just had a little more tlc.
Lake work beach club
Love the course and the various changes done to it over the years I’ve been playing it.
A great value
The staff is extremely friendly, and the price/value is excellent.
It is currently the rainy season, and the course is susceptible to saturation, especially on certain holes. When this happens, some fairways are probably not suitable for fairway cutting so it is possible on some holes to lose your ball after hitting it down the middle of the fairway. This goes for the first cut rough also.
Please don’t waste your money
Tried to play on 9/16. Paid through GolfNow. Course was incredibly wet. It was so bad we quit after two holes. The course should not even be open. I’m trying to get my money back from GolfNow.
Fun Course
It was a bit soggy from the rain the night before I played so there were a few fairways that held water and was a bit spongy.
Getting better for sure!!
Well I have been playing it for a long time and it’s in the best and worst condition, which is awesome. It has to get worse to get better sometimes. Greens are in best shape ever, slow but will be cut at the right time. Newly paved cart paths, but fairways are rough and still being worked on.
All around great course
We were greeted by very friendly staff and the check-in process and tee times run smoothly and efficiently. We found the course to be in nice shape with some pretty views. The price of greens fees and carts is extremely reasonable. This is our go to course by far.
Average at best
Course only had the back 9 open, would’ve been nice for this information to have been relayed when we booked our tee times. Staff is very friendly and respectful, but based on the course experience I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. Drove 3 hours for nothing!
Not a good policy
Am from Orlando whenever I get a chance
To go to West Palm Beach I go here
Play the course properly a dozen times.
Had an emergency play 5 holes. I ask the
Pro shop is possible to get a rain check.
He said no.won’t go back.
Beautiful maintained course on intracoastal!
Really nice course great value, beautiful views nice fairways and greens, laid back atmosphere
Affordable
I love that this course is by the water, especially during the summer where it has not as hot as inland courses. You can catch a breeze and enjoy some nice water views. I find it affordable and works for my beginners level of play. Nice to have a restaurant right at the end of the course for a cold beer and a bite (service has been slow during the summer months.
Missed Opportunity
To start, the course is in a phenomenal location. Some of the views are absolutely amazing. The building for the clubhouse is basic but nice. However, the tee boxes are horrendous. They have so much of a crown on them. That one is challenge to find a flat area to tee off from. They are also in dire need of reseeding and repair. At the time of this review, they are redoing the cart paths. This is needed, but the fact that the tee boxes are in such disrepair makes one wonder about the priorities regarding the course.
The fairways are in decent condition. The rough is extremely shaggy. And the putting surface is abominable. The greens are so shaggy that one could hit a putt to go 100 feet on a decent green, but it would go perhaps 50 feet on this course.
Granted, this is a municipal course, and the green fees are quite reasonable for the area. However, it is very frustrating when one considers the poor maintenance of the course. Aesthetically, the course could be so much more. The 17th tee could be used as a backdrop for weddings with a steeple of one of the local churches just over the green. And to turn and look at the causeway would be a perfect picture on one’s wedding day.
The pond that lines the 14th, 15th and 16th holes is disgusting. It is fetid and filled with algae. All that would be needed would be a couple fountains and one would have a picture postcard set of holes.
If Lake Worth was willing to invest some money into the course, they could get an incredible return on investment. It’s a shame that they don’t take the opportunities present presented to them.
