About
The Club at Venetian Bay is part of a unique residential community with a Mediterranean theme. Colorful buildings, mosaics, and Mediterranean vegetation surround the championship golf course. The biggest challenge for the designers was transforming what was formerly a cow pasture into a lush, challenging course. The design team of Clifton, Ezell, and Clifton seemed to have little trouble doing so. The front nine plays through the woods while the back nine is more open with a few links-style touches. The most prominent feature of this golf course is the abundance of sand bunkers. There are more than 100 strategically placed throughout. The bunkers present a formidable test but they are nicely balanced with ample landing areas. They are also geared more towards low handicappers, which means they aren't intended to kill your round.

Always a good round.
The course was a little rougher than what we are used to playing as we have not had more than a couple of good rain storms in a month or more.
The greens were punched recently and were sanded, but overall they were quite playable and most of our group (of 8) scored well.
The fairways are pretty parched but holding up ok.
We were given a nice rate to play, probably, in light of the punched greens. (But not all courses do that - so it was appreciated).

Greens
This course has the worst screens in the area sod all over the place and all over the place weeds all over the place dead grass on the greens fertilizer on the greens you got to put through that's 3 in deep it's just not worth it just be a beautiful course going downhill
Venetian
Greens could be faster. Given the dry conditions it held up well.
Dry and Disappointed
The good - the staff were awesome. I was met in the parking lot and offered a cart. I was early - but as a single they paired me up and got me out early. Cart girl was all smiles and saw her several times. Carts were smooth and had GPS/Bluetooth. The bad - the course is extremely dry. With few flat fairways - shots would land and skip off to the sides with no grass to stop it. Iron shots were difficult because the ground was so hard. Greens had dirt/dry/sand patches on them. Lots of bunkers - many of them blocking greens. This appears to be a new community - but if they aren’t going to invest in caring for the course during the dry season - every year - then it could get worse.

Friendly staff, solid conditions and great value. Glad to have had the opportunity to golf here.
Great fun demanding layout
We had good pace of play. Right at 4 hours. Course is in good shape. The greens are a challenge and were a bit for wear but overall in very good shape. Had a great time and were paired up with 2 local players. Lots of fun.
Enjoyable
After reading some negative reviews my expectations were not high. A few patchy greens does not take away from a good layout with fast greens, good fairways and ok tee boxes. No complaints. If you're looking for perfect pay $300. Recommend this course.
