The Club at Venetian Bay
About
The Club at Venetian Bay is part of a unique residential community with a Mediterranean theme. Colorful buildings, mosaics, and Mediterranean vegetation surround the championship golf course. The biggest challenge for the designers was transforming what was formerly a cow pasture into a lush, challenging course. The design team of Clifton, Ezell, and Clifton seemed to have little trouble doing so. The front nine plays through the woods while the back nine is more open with a few links-style touches. The most prominent feature of this golf course is the abundance of sand bunkers. There are more than 100 strategically placed throughout. The bunkers present a formidable test but they are nicely balanced with ample landing areas. They are also geared more towards low handicappers, which means they aren't intended to kill your round.

6 hour round
Our teetime was 11:10. We got off at 11:43 due to an on house tournament. We waited on every shot on every hole. The greens were not in great condition with areas with no grass and some had sandy lines on them which really affected the putts.
The staff were friendly but did nothing about the slow play.
The greens were very inconsistent regarding speed and the holes were crowned.
I understand the course has new owners. Maybe they will fix the course issues.
Challenging Course
A great course that is steadily improving with good maintenance practices. The course can be challenging, a few greens need some extra care but overall is a great course with great staff..
Putting Greens need serious love
This was my first time playing at The Venetian and I have always wanted to play here since I was a little kid. The layout was great and the staff are extremely friendly. The condition if the putting greens is what really let me down however. It was like putting off outside carpet in my patio. Absolutely terrible. You cannot judge or read the green speeds at all. The greens may be infected with some sorr of fungus od could be from too much sun but victoria hills or even the deltona club have better greens than this for the same price.
Great Course!
Always a fun place to play! Friendly staff. Very accommodating with times and allowing you to play alone
course was ready to play
The course was well kept and fun to play.
Went into the club house for lunch. Very
slow and food not the best.
Course Maintenance Deteriorating
Greens have many bad spots around edges covered with greensand. Sand traps need more sand and drainage as they have standing water. Fairways have very thin spots. Coures was aerated a few months ago but it has not thickened the grass coverage for the winter.
Great shape
Thought the course was in great shape. With all the rain (water in the bunkers complaint?) this handled it well. Great range, liked starting on the back 9. Greens were good, a mistake on 3 greens with fluid is recovered, however still visible. If they spray painted the greens, it would not affect your roll. Pink flags for Breast Cancer Awareness was a nice touch. Great place for couples to play. Back soon.
Course is going downhill
This course was sold new owners aren't doing much work on it course itself is going downhill have a lot of dead spots in the fairways a lot of dead spots around the greens and the greens you can't put on them they're the worst screens you've ever put it on I have to laugh at some of the people with their comments saying that they're fast screens they must play on greens at put to a six or a five all the time then
Greens dead area
This is probably one of the worst courses in the area for greens you can't put on lot of dead spots over fertilize and a lot of dead areas around the greens also to bonkers are in poor condition
Long but fun
There was some sand work being done on a few greens, but otherwise the course was in great shape.
Wet Couse
Back nine was card path only and really was too wet to be playing on. Course did not tell us that it was cart path only on the back. Play was very slow.
Nice Course-Needs a little work
My understanding is this course changed management in the winter of 2023. I was told when we checked in that the course had been really run down when new management took over but they felt the course was getting better every day. They are working on several greens, particularly on the front nine around the edges. A lot of sand on the edges to get grass to grow. On this day, many sand traps were full of water, mainly on the back nine, Fairways and Tees were pretty good. If a green was being worked on, the other 90% of the green was good, not great. The ball did roll well. They putted better than they looked. We played this course a few times under the old management a few years ago and the conditions were overall pretty good. We did not play it when it had run down. I think there is really good potential here with some work. We like the room off the tee for driving and multiple tee locations offers you an easier or tougher test based on your level of play. They are offering some good rates to possibly win back some lost business. It's definitely worth playing.
