The Club at Venetian Bay is part of a unique residential community with a Mediterranean theme. Colorful buildings, mosaics, and Mediterranean vegetation surround the championship golf course. The biggest challenge for the designers was transforming what was formerly a cow pasture into a lush, challenging course. The design team of Clifton, Ezell, and Clifton seemed to have little trouble doing so. The front nine plays through the woods while the back nine is more open with a few links-style touches. The most prominent feature of this golf course is the abundance of sand bunkers. There are more than 100 strategically placed throughout. The bunkers present a formidable test but they are nicely balanced with ample landing areas. They are also geared more towards low handicappers, which means they aren't intended to kill your round.

Course condition

I've played this course for many years and it is really going downhill the greens are the worst around some of them are dying bunkers are full of water a lot of dead areas around the greens nothing but dirt to hit off of not worth the money

Play discourse and four of the greens were damaged by the green cutter with hydraulic fluid or diesel fuel spilled all over the greens it'll take a couple months for them to come back me personally out of fire the man on the spot don't waste your money playing here the greens are horrible all of them when I have to laugh at the people that say this is a beautiful course I'd hate to see what they play back home

The greens on this course are the worst Greens in the area never have puttered on such terrible greens before a lot of dead spots and uneven spots you're going to spend this kind of money I suggest you find a nice course to play because this isn't it

I have played here many times, but it has been probably 6 months since I last played there. Conditions on this course have been good and bad over the years. Right now, the course conditions are fair and need some improvement. This could change in a month or so if they work at it. The course layout is fun, but the conditions take something away from that. The green mower leaked oil on at least one green so that will kill the grass and take a while to repair.

The course, it's torn up a little bit extremely wet. Bunkers have a lot of damage to them and/or just full water. Gree s are damaged and unputable..

Course was wet

Personally the course should have been cart path only. Lots of wet stops and lots of ruts were being left after the carts went over the fairways.

Major improvements since my last trip

I haven’t played this course in a while and found many improvements have been made since my last visit. Cart paths have been established throughout the course, greens and tee boxes are in great shape as well as the fairways. Staff seem to be very accommodating and the starter got me off by myself this morning before the a.m. “rush.” I also noticed the deck outside the restaurant has been expanded. This course is in the best shape it’s been in in years and I would definitely recommend playing it.
