Cypress Head Golf Club

Went out on Tuesday as a twosome met up with two other guys played 18 holes and never saw another person. And that’s not even the best part of the round , it’s the conditions of this golf course. I know it impressed me because I filled every single divot hole.

Course in excellent condition only issue were thé greens that had been worked on.

Usually when a course has recentlyaerated their greens there is a course alert on Golfnow.

This was not the case when I played here recently, nor did the staff mention this when I checked in and paid.

Understanding that this is necessary to maintain good greens it would have been nice to have been informed.

The greens were total sand and it was extremely frustrating.

Especially disappointing considering I drove almost an hour to play this course. Lesson learned, check before you book.

First time playing here - decent layout - unfortunately either course did not inform Golfnow with regard to aerification of the greens or GolfNow just didn’t note it upon booking. Nice people but would have liked to have known what I was in for as far as the greens go. I’d definitely play here again but would not recommend this place for another 2 weeks or so, the greens will be pretty sandy and bumpy.

The course was ok, it’s Golf Now that sucks, for not mentioning aeration of greens and fairways. Dodging fairway turds and sand greens is not what I expected. Please give warnings of such improvements.

Staff and people I was grouped with were good friendly people. Greens a little bumpy overall good outing. Would go back.

That guy on 4/30 who ripped this course must have shot really a bad score or played with people that he hated. Or, he got this course confused with Cypress Knoll. Just ignore that guy. This is an excellent course and they get a LOT of play. In fact, very difficult to get a tee time here in the winter. Summer slows down when snow birds leave. They are aerating the course but that is one reason it is always in excellent shape. Great staff and great course.

As a former superintendent;

I have played this course about 15- times and every time the conditions have been excellent. The greens are true, the tees are properly maintained, and the fairways are above average. This is a direct comparison to the other courses in the area.

Overall the course is in good health!

We vacation for a couple of weeks in this area every spring and play a variety of courses each year. Played this course years ago and recall it being a tough track with narrow water lined fairway’s and small greens. A real challenge!. However the course has been severely neglected ….everything about the place is tired from the run down club house, unkept fairways and rough, to the dead bare brown greens, to an actual dead rotting raccoon not ten feet off the back of a green.We should have realized the locals stay away as there were only two other cars in the parking lot when we arrived for our 12:40 time. We debated turning around after the first hole and heading to one of the other area courses but thought maybe better things lay ahead; NOPE!! Go to Muni North or Muni New Smyrna as they are both in this price range and in much better shape. If you want to spend a few extra bucks Venetian bay is a step up from all of these but still a good deal overall.

I play a couple times a week at most courses within my 50 mile radius and find that Cypress Head is in the top 5. From tee box to green, you’ll find a well kept course with constant maintenance being done on and outside the playing areas. Greens are in great shape as well as all the bunkers. Staff is very accommodating, nothing not to like here. Play it…you’ll enjoy it.
