Cypress Head Golf Club
About
Cypress Head, an Arthur Hills design, is a blend of holes and styles, a layout of two distinct nines that impress players through different means. At 6,805 yards from the tournament tees, the course is not a beast (there are three alternative sets to choose from).
The first nine is the highlight at Cypress Head. These holes take on a variety of shapes and strategies with little repetition.
It features multi-tiered undulating greens and preserved wetlands with water coming into play on 14 of the 18 holes. The 14th hole is a 478-yard par 4 over water that comes into play off the tee as well as the second shot to the multi tiered green.
The Golf Club also features a lighted driving range and practice facility. Two practice putting greens, a target green and sand bunkers for honing your skills before taking on the challenges of the course
With its' superb conditions and beautiful wetlands setting, Cypress Head is a public club that offers a private and tranquil experience.

Legitimate Golf
The White tees are pretty short (under 6k yds), the Blues are more challenging, and the tips are legit at 6,800 or so. Nice fairways, generally reasonable rough, reasonable sand and consistent greens make for an enjoyable round. The back tees have some tight tee shots and forced-carry shots I don’t recommend the tips to anyone who won’t still comfortably carry 230-yds on a “good miss”. The greens aren’t particularly fast, and they’ll hold both high-angle approach and low, spinning shots. All in all, this is probably my favorite Daytona area course…LPGA’s courses are very nice, but I still think Cypress Head is my fav.
Great value fir the money
Course in excellent shape. Pin placements were difficult for a Publix course and blues played al.ostvas long as golds, but a great time!
Always fun playing at Cypress Head.
Always a pleasure playing Cypress Head. Course was understandably wet but in great shape. The greens are rolling well but slower because of all the rain. The staff is always friendly and the cart lady was out as well. Pace of play was excellent. Overall, it was a fun day and I recommend this course to anyone in the area!
Good Afternoon Value
The course was in good shape, especially the greens and pace of play excellent. Very good value if don't mind the heat. Friendly pro shop.
Nice Course
I enjoy playing Cypress Head. It's a nice course is good condition. It's not LPGA, Disney Buena Vista or Shingle Creek, but it's nice and a reasonable value. I generally donate a couple balls to the water gods. The course has a lot of water.
Greens sanded/slow
Nice shape even with the greens being punched should be fine in a week or so
Top Local Course
Enjoyable course! Has everything you want to test your skills; one of the better courses in Central Florida!
Great course
First time play this course, I loved it! I would have rated it higher if the green is faster. I think the green speed is perhaps 7 or 8, I wonder what the effort is to roll it to 10 or 11. The greens are in great conditions, no issues whatsoever, just way too slow. Other than that, I truly enjoyed it! The layout is fun, although lots of water but well designed. Fairways and Tee boxes are in excellent shape! The pace was pretty good as well. I would come back if greens are at 10 or more.

Great Course! (GREAT INFO TOWARDS THE END OF REVIEW)
It was moderately busy, but I was put with 3 other players and we finished in 4 hrs. Not bad for a 4some.
I would give the conditions a 5 star rating, but the greens were weird. The practice green was perfect, but literally all the greens on the course we putting much slower or faster. You couldn't get a feel for how hard or soft to putt. It was the worst guessing game of my life! All the other gentlemen with me agreed. Out of the 4 of us, only 2 of us made putts outside of 15 feet twice. The rest of the time we had 2-putts. Seriously!? Not good. The putting green should be a good representation of what we will find on the course. When the putting green is better than the course, that's a problem. I hope this gets rectified.
The staff was super friendly and helpful which is a huge and refreshing change from what I have experienced on my prior visits.
Great value: During the heat of the day (95 degrees that day) I would expect a fair price and it was., $33.
Course lay-out is what it is, This is a challenging course for me. You need to think about what you want to do and if you really have the game to match it. I typically don't do well with course management and rely on my drive. I'll shoot mid-high 80's consistently, but someone who will do more than simply hit the ball the required distance will do very well here.
Off-Course Amenities: Didn't use anything except the bar with the usual type food and beverages. I will say here that I'm actually disappointed that the beverage cart was not running. It was sitting there without anyone to drive it around. I don't know what the situation is, however, I hope that issue gets resolved quickly. You can't have a bunch of people on the course without the ability to get beverages like Gatorade, etc. On a hot day like that you have to replace electrolytes and fluid. They did have water well placed throughout the course, but you do need more than water (and not just beer guys). That being said I'll add a nice blurb here about the NEW GOLF CARTS! VERY NICE! Have USB plugs, sand, and A COOLER! So if you asked before you left the clubhouse you could get beverages and ice before you start. I fortunately asked so I was good. The rest of my group had to stop after 9 to get refreshments.
My round was very enjoyable with the exception of my score! LOL! I will definitely be back. BEST COURSE IN THE AREA RIGHT NOW.
