Cypress Head Golf Club
About
Cypress Head, an Arthur Hills design, is a blend of holes and styles, a layout of two distinct nines that impress players through different means. At 6,805 yards from the tournament tees, the course is not a beast (there are three alternative sets to choose from).
The first nine is the highlight at Cypress Head. These holes take on a variety of shapes and strategies with little repetition.
It features multi-tiered undulating greens and preserved wetlands with water coming into play on 14 of the 18 holes. The 14th hole is a 478-yard par 4 over water that comes into play off the tee as well as the second shot to the multi tiered green.
The Golf Club also features a lighted driving range and practice facility. Two practice putting greens, a target green and sand bunkers for honing your skills before taking on the challenges of the course
With its' superb conditions and beautiful wetlands setting, Cypress Head is a public club that offers a private and tranquil experience.

What happened to this course?
Played this course for past 10 years, always raved about it, but not now. Having spent several hundred thousand dollars a couple of years ago on improving greens and sand traps, you wouldn't know it now. Who is responsible for such a lack of upkeep on such a huge expenditure? Greens are rough with many bare or I should say mud spots, traps are wayer soaked and hard mud/sand. Good thing is because so many people have stopped playing there pace of play is no problem.
One of the best local courses
Fairways were good. Greens were a litle slower and bumpier than usual but not bad. Pace of play was very good.
Bad greens
Terrible greens, a mix of patchy and bare spots on every green but still charging $50 in the AM. Not worth it with putts bouncing all over the place and having to guess the speed.
Loved the layout and the friendliness of the staff. Greens were a little on the poor side but probably due to the weather over the previous few days but would certainly play again
Great day except for one jerk...
Beautiful weather and good course conditions. Thoroughly enjoyed the course and would love to play again. Just one negative. Due to heavy rain on Thursday the back nine was "cart path only". Seems there is always one jerk that thinks the rules don't apply to him. In this case it was someone that I think was a member or at least a local resident. He had his own personal golf cart and drove it into the neighborhood when he was done. This jerk ignored the "cart path only" and drove all over the wet fairways tearing them up. Because everyone one else was honoring the rules and he was ignoring them he was playing at a faster pace than those of use who chose to respect the course and follow the rules. He apparently didn't like waiting like all the rest of us on the course were doing and on more than one occasion hit into us while we waited for the group ahead of us to play. This clown was driving a personal cart with striped top. If you know who he is you may want to give him a refresher course in etiquette and you can hopefully prevent him form tearing up what is a very nice course.
NIce course
Course layout is excellent. Fairways are very good with some minor rough areas. Greens were quick and true, but had some spotty damage that was repaired.
Wonderful day
Great weather and a great course. Friendly staff to greet you at the bag drop, and in the pro shop. Course great too, greens roll moderately fast & true. Plyy here when you can.
Pleasantly Surprised
First time playing this course. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Course seems wide open with little trouble which made for a very pleasant vacation round.
Great track slow play
Track was great course in good shape; however, pace of play extremely slow!! Notified Marshall seems upset not overly pleasant and blamed slow play on bad golfers that where ahead of us instead of asking them to speed up play. Hard to return to a nice course when you spend ten to fifteen minutes on each tee box.
oneof our favourites
this course is one of our favourites, challenging layout, it appears that the greens had been aerated a couple of weeks ago as light sand was present in some areas, the rough was fairly deep as we lost several balls that sunk below the surface and couldnt be found even though we had a prety good idea where they landed.
Will play again
One of my local favorites
I've always liked this course, challenging holes that require well-placed shots, friendly staff, lots of wildlife, including gators, sandhill cranes, wild turkeys, hawks, etc. Always a fun round at Cypresshead
Always nice!
We play Cypress Head often and it rarely disappoints us. The tee boxes and fairways were in good shape although a bit wet due to recent rains. The greens were not terrible, but loaded with brown patches that didn't affect the roll much and were pretty bumpy and dry relative to the rest of the course. The rough is thick but cut to a manageable length. The pace of play was good and on course refreshments were available.
Good condition, a little wet, but great value.
The course is in good condition, a little wet, restricting us to 90 degree rule on the front nine and cart paths only on the back nine. The pace of play was a little slow as a result.
Cypress Head
Staff friendly, greens are slow, rough is too long. Course is challenging but fun. Would recommend keeping rough a little bit lower so you can find your ball. I love the layout. Practice area is good.
Fun course
The course was a lot of fun to play . Don’t need driver on every hole. A second shot course. Greens were a little slow but consistent if I need to nitpick . 4hours on a Saturday morning was good. Several tees to play from also. I will definitely play again here.
