A GREAT GOLF OUTINGI
BEING AN EXECUTIVE COURSE WE THOUGHT WE WOULD BE THROUGH QUICKLY BUT THE COURSE BEING NEW TO US AND BEING TIGHT, NARROW AND WATER ON EVERY HOLE, IT TOOK US 3 1/2 HRS. TO PLAY. IT WAS QUITE CHALLANGING. ALSO, THE COURSE WAS VERY SHADY - GREAT ON A SUNNY, WARM DAY.
Seniors
Fun course and great layout. Easy going pace in the morning but CRAZY slow in the afternoons. Only problem, residents driving carts down holes and noisy paths while trying to play. No consideration of others enjoyment.
Shaggy greens but challenging to play
For a short course, it's not meant for the beginner golfer. Water on 10-12 holes and easy to lose golf balls from an off line shot. Great course to work on your short to mid irons and rescue clubs.
Greens were real shaggy and tough to judge how hard to strike the ball.
Fun to play and great value on the cost of the round of golf.
Nice executive course
Great course for practicing short game. Greens slow but challenging due to small size and grain. Found course quite challenging from gold tees.
Nice course for me as a beginner
Conditions much better than last year! I hope they start the Sunday fun golf!
Great course to practice your iron play
We play here several times a year. Course is always in good shape, generaly not too crowed so we get around in about 2 1/2 hrs. It's a great place for me too practice instead of going to the range. Greens are always very slow I think its the type of grass they use, but for the type of clients that play there it makes sense.
Great Short Course, work those irons
Greens have been much improved since my last visit. Med. speed, no more brown patches.. Course will make you think about your shots, and shot placement is a must to do well. 18 holes in about 2 hours, generally not too busy. it really make you work your irons, no hole longer then just over 200yds from middle tee's
Iron Course
This is my second time out on this course, the first time the greens were horrible, especially the back 9 but, it was worth a second trip. This time I was pleased to see they really took some time to tend to the greens.. I rated this experience better than the last b/c my main complaint was terrible greens.
This is definitely a workout for your irons, playing anything but the back tee's lacks any real challenge but nonetheless makes you choose your irons wisely. Back tee's offer a good challenge on most holes as your shots are awkward or somewhat obscured a bit and prove to be too long for long irons, at least if you're not spot on with long iron accuracy and control.
Longest hole's are just over 200 yards but even the shorter one's require layup on hard turn doglegs. Par 3's are short, really short, like SW off the tee's.. 1 par 3 was 76 yrs from mid tee's.
Downside, the ruff was really ruff, hit a ball there and it sinks out of sight. had a hard time finding balls literally just off the fairway. Getting out of it was easy but jus locating your ball was a challenge in its self. Greens were green this time but very slow and pitch shots didn't stick well or check up easy but compared to what they were a few months ago its a vastly huge improvement.
I'd recommend this course to women, youngsters and to men who want to work their irons. Not a 5 or 4 star course but its definitely worth the 2 hours to play 18 and practice the most important part if your game, your short game
Greens?
We were forewarned about the greens being aerated and sanded, but we played on a Groupon so we went ahead. The sanding had taken place but even with that, these greens are far from puttable. Virtually none of the greens were flat or contoured. Rolls were unpredictable. It will take months of rain and more attention to get them to putting well. Layout is fun, water everywhere.
Challenging but fun round
One of my favorite courses. A short course, mostly par-3s, so a really good place to work on your short game. Most fairways narrow, with lots of trees and water, and small greens. Don't be fooled by the short length of the course!!! If you don't keep it in the fairways or close to the greens on the par 3s, you're in for a rough time! They had just aerated and sanded the greens, so they weren't in the best putting condition. My only small criticism of the course is that the greens are pretty slow and a bit inconsistent. Nonetheless, I look forward to playing there.
Short game course. Poor greens
A course comprised of almost all par 3 holes, freedom fairways offers a course that is good for a quick round on a weekday afternoon. Short holes and quick pace of play mean you can practice chip shots and short game on 18 holes in a couple of hours. Downfall of the course was the greens condition. The greens should just be called whites since they were comprised of more sand than grass. Overall for the price its a better experience than just hanging out at a driving range. Not recommended for avid golfers.
Bring your beach chair and flip flops
The greens were just horrible. I get they were working on them but some were just unputtable. This is no egagerattion. These courses should not sell time on GolfNow till a golfer can get the whole golf experience. Also, I am an amputee and the Ranger chastised me because I had my cart on the fairway. I had a skirt on so you could see my prosthetic all he cared about was their grass. Not cool at all.
Terrible Greens!
Booked for a reduced rate on GolfNow and so glad I didn't pay any more. Course layout is great, but greens were in such terrible shape you couldn't putt on them. Ball bounced all over and so much top dressing on every single green. There was one hole under repair.....but, every green needed repair!
Crummy Course In Crummy Shape
I booked this course based on the 3.5 star aggregate rating. The other reviewers must have been extremely generous. This is easily one of the worst courses I have ever played, and it's in very poor shape to boot. The greens are spray-painted green sand; there's so much sand on them, they are practically unplayable. I strongly recommend you look elsewhere.
Shut it down
Honestly, for those of you who like level grass tee boxes, greens "not" made of hard clay (there was no grass) pristine or just average fairways, don't come here, "EVER". Why? Why would you charge people money for this, this (i don't know what to call it) !! Seriously, to the staff who were very friendly except when I asked the question; "how are the greens"? and I got a shoulder shrug. Really?! Tell me they suck be honest. I couldn't have be more honest. on a scale of 1 -10 ten being the best, this course gets a -2. Listen I know you employ about 50-100 people but tell me where I am wrong?
The greens are terrible
Dirt around all the greens. One hole was roped off in the corner of the green where it was dug up. Was not told about this before I went on the course!
Rotten greens
It has to be one of the worst courses in the state of Florida. No rangers on the course to keep the players on a smooth pace. The tee box were disgusting, the greens were so bad I don't know how to explain them to you. It's just a old run down course. It did not cost much to play there. But really, try some where else before you drop a penny on this course.
