Golfer Reviews
Course has gone way down hill...
Unfortunately, this once was a classy, premium course that now more closely resembles a goat ranch. There are weeds everywhere, the maintenance staff are barely keeping it mowed, the driving range is a joke (no grass to hit from - only weeds). Cart paths are shoddy at best, and even the carts are jerky and ragged.
Still a great layout, and I understand there is a new management company that just took over, but it will take years to recover, and only if people are willing to invest. I truly hope they recover, but I will not be visiting again - plenty of better options within a 30 minute drive.
Staff and restaurant were great, though!
Great course layout, terrible tee boxes
I liked the course and the staff was great. However the tee boxes was in terrible shape. They should be in way better shape than I saw that day. Awful tee boxes. They should be embarrassed. Until they fix.them, I will not be back there.
Nice layout bad shape
Discourse used to be one of the nicest courses in Central Florida now it's just a cow pasture whoever owns it needs to sell it and let somebody come in there that knows golf courses and take care of it and bring it back
Horrible
There is no greens keeper on staff and boy does it show. Fairways have weeds thru out.
They haven't been mowed in weeks.
Dead spots every where in the fairways.
Tee boxes are all tore up very little grass
Greens are in fair condition very slow.
I would not recommend to anyone.
You've been warned
Fun course or the price but tee boxes need serious help
I liked the layout of the course, challenging and fun. However the teee boxes was in terrible shape. I'm guessing the lack of rain in May is what caused their current condition and they haven't recovered yet. I would play this course again but the tee boxes need serious help.
CONDITIONS WARRANT 1/2 PRICE
I heard this course has recently changed management groups and probably in the nick of time. Tee boxes were void of grass but have plenty of weeds. Fairways have so many weeds my group elected to play lift, clean and place from weeds. Greens were not rolled and were fuzzy and super slow. Restaurant not open until lunch time. No refreshment cart on course. No starter. No ranger. No cart boy. General course conditions warrant 1/2 price greens fee until the management can take care of problems. $39 plus tax = too much under present circumstances.
Morning 9
Nice course close to my house. Everyone on the staff is great! Always a good conversation and very helpful. The course seems a bit tricky to me... You see this nice big fairway next thing your in the water?! lol Some challenging holes over trees and some well thought out landscaping. When I played they are in the middle of a company change and course was bit rough but it sounds like they will have it it good shape again.
Good value, not well maintained
Greens were very slow and hadn’t been cut in a while. There were a lot of bare spots in the fairway. The layout is a bit tight but nice. Good course for the money, but the maintenance staff needs some work.
Great course. They need some rain
$35 for 18 holes, balls and lunch. I really like the course layout. They’re building houses on several holes. A few tee boxes were rough because they’re lacking rain. However most of the course and the greens were in great condition.
The tees barely had any grass on them throughout the course. Traps were not raked and rock hard. Greens were recently aerated and grass not cut. All my prior visits the course was great condition. Disappointing round
The tee boxes need a lot of work they are mostly weeds and sand, the greens are in good shape, and so are most of the fairways, the staff is very friendly and the food in the restaurant is very good, I will be back.
All tees had very little grass, many areas around the greens
Needed work. The sand traps looked like they were not raked in days. The greens needed cutting, they were extremely slow. Fairways were good. It appears that money is an issue based on conditions, no starter, and no Marshalls.
.
Good course
I think this course has one of the best design / layouts anywhere. A few patchy spots in the fairways but no big deal, just move your ball a couple feet. Greens run medium speed and are very fun to putt. The tee boxes are in below average condition. The guy in the pro shop told me they over seeded them with rye in the fall but due to the lack of rain in recent months they haven't taken root and filled in. Very fair but challenging course.
Just Another Cow Pasture
It's a shame when locals try to prop up their local course without any clue about the real world. Sorry about your home values. The course is a cow pasture with ponds converted to a golf course.
Tee Boxes - HORRIBLE
Fairways - Weed Filled
Bunkers - Washed Out
Cart Paths - Dirt
The good news is the greens and clubhouse are nice.
Also, the locals / members are clueless. Just because I don't play golf as well as you, doesn't give you the right to disregard common courtesy. If I'm 15 feet away from the hole and you're 5 feet away, I putt first.
Could be a great course
Greens are in fairly good shape, tee boxes are being refurbished so teeing off on dirt every hole. Fairways are ok with some bare spots.
Biggest complaint is they seem to allow anyone on the course as walk ups. checked the tee times before booking and there were 4 in front of and behind the one I chose that morning. We had to tee off late because there was a line of groups waiting to go but the tee times still showed open on the app. Made for a very long day with eight groups all playing and waiting on most holes.
