Course condition
I haven't played here in 12 years, I was expecting a very well looked after course , what I found was most tee boxes chewed up, fairways with bald spots to little grass . I told my friend if it in the supposed fairway lift in place on grass.. the greens are in trouble, various bald spots, they had punched or crosscut them , through sand on top of it to dress them . Leaving sand balls all over putting service. I have watched this process at other courses and they always Finnish the process with a long flexible pole running it back and forth to smooth out sand and to get it into the cuts. In the past i have played here 50 times dating back from when it opened and never saw it like this. My friend and I said it will be along time before we come back. 🤔
Not worth $50
They need water badly. Dry everywhere. If you dont want to hit off the dirt in the fairway, you can find some near by grabgrass to move your ball to. The greens are rough, some faster than others. You may want to move your ball away from the grabgrass on the greens. No signs to tell you that you are entering the clubhouse. And no signs after playing number 18 to tel you where the clubhouse is. Your two blocks away. If you can play it for $20 & are a 20 plus golfer, this course is for you. 3/21/25. Give it 2 months and alot of water and it maybe a little better.
Inexpensive golf challenge
Course is in rough condition and very challenging. But better golfers can handle it and it was not overpriced.
Not bad at all
With a lack of decent rain, fairways are thin in most courses in March. IRP is no different, but spotty places are not the norm. Almost all greens are without sandy spots, although there are a few. Had to go "cold turkey" without the driving range open due to their ball picker being broke. But still a good time. Pro shop help is the best.
Always a Great Day at Indian River
From Laurie in the Pro Shop to Fritz at the cart barn, the staff goes out of their way to make our day at the course enjoyable.
Problems on the greens.
Love this layout of this course. The greens were sanded in what appeared to be repair patches. Some places extensive which caused the need to move the ball to get a fair roll. Which rolled fast. The fairways had green grass and some parts actually needed to be cut.
Front 9 in rough shape back nine a little better
It was a flat sandy Florida golf course. The green were bare down to the sand in spots.
Terrible
This course was in horrible condition. Greens were completely dead, fairways were dead, the bunkers were in poor condition. The pace of play was 5 hours for 18 holes. We spent majority of our time waiting. One of the worst golf experiences I’ve ever had.
Hidden Gem!
Great Course for the price!
A lot of water but great layout
10th Tee can use more signs for a first timer but still a great course. Might be my new regular spot!
Slow play and terrible greens
Starter does not start according to tee times. No ranger to keep up pace of play either. Stuck behind two foursomes that were easily 8 strokes in before even getting close to the green. No course etiquette, not playing ready golf. I was paired with two old folks from up north that were just as bad. Pointless to even try and play a decent fun round when you have to wait 20 mins at the tee box and then watching the people you're paired with scavenge for balls with their 15' ball retrievers. Really sick and tired of the slow paced northerners wrecking everybodies round behind them. Plus the greens are garbage and have been for a long time. Driving range is cabbage as well. Very disappointed with this course.
Worth it
Love the layout of this course. The practice facility is helpful. Like many other courses currently grass is greening. Greens were honest and not too fast. Got great deal for $3 extra if you buy practice balls gets you lunch / dinner off a select menu. Everyone very friendly and the facility is classy.
Great layout, greens needed attention
Beautiful place, great layout, greens were not great, get those greens rolling and get some grass on them and it would be fantastik
Sadly but true
The layout was decent but $50 to hit off of weeds and crabgrass idk
Gr8sct
Let's start with the fairways-absolutely TERRIBLE! Front nine was so bad that I thought i'd jarred my fillings loose. Not to mention the only grass, if you want to call it were bits of sprigs of some kind of growth through out. The back nine was marginally better but not much. Now the greens - grass was practically non-existent and what was there was a poor excuse to call them "greens". As far as the cartpaths(??) they also were rough and bumpy like they were shelled by mortars. We've been coming here for 9 years now and while the course I would say was average it has digressed to sadly say pathetic.$$ and a lot of hard work is needed to bring this place, which used to be a reasonable and fun place to play, back to playing condition. Until then won't be returning. Don't waste your money.
