Duran Golf Club - Championship Course
About
Duran Golf Club is a local favorite, known for being the best public course in Brevard County. The club is also home to the area's only lighted nine-hole, par-3 course. The course stretches across fertile terrain that was formerly a sod farm, lending some of the lushest playing surfaces on Florida's east coast. The championship layout has a links feel with subtle mounding that frames large, undulating greens. The beautiful landscape comes into play throughout the golf course. Sparkling lakes and ponds, lush grasses, and stately palms all add to the beauty and challenge of the round. Coastal breezes come into play on several holes thanks to the seaside location. Duran Golf Club's practice facility is almost as popular as the 18-hole course. In addition to the par-3 course, there is also a large driving range with mounded areas where you can practice with uphill and downhill lies.

Solid modern public golf
I always enjoy playing Duran Golf Club in the annual Space Coast Amateur golf tournament, which they host every March. They also host several men's and women's college events. I'm glad to support any course that supports the competitive game like that.
The course is an interesting one, with greens that have more movement than most in the region, offset by fairly generous corridors and water that tends to flank fairways and greens, rather than create forced carries. It becomes a stout test when the wind gets up and fairways and greens get firm and fast. I really like the par 3s, which are nods to template holes like the Redan (7th) and Biarritz (17th).
This past winter was a little unkind to the greens, which had some thin patches; I was told the putting surfaces are likely to be replaced next summer, which means that come fall 2023 Duran will be looking its best since it opened in 2005.
Course was in good condition bunkers were wet due to rains. Staff are very friendly and never keeps you waiting. A very good course in all aspects
Great course and features but the course stacked all the tee times on top of each other way too much so that with 2 people it took us 5 and a half hours to play 18 holes due to how backed up the people were in front of us
Duran Golf Club-Must Play
I've heard about this course for a long time but the pricing is usually higher than I like to pay for a round but I was lucky enough to find great rate for 4 on Golf Now for $31.
The course overall was in great condition. There were a couple of tee boxes that could have used a little seeding but the fairways and green were in great condition throughout the day, we tee'd off at 2pm.
The course layout looked very challenging with water on every hole and lots of shrubbery to tee over but the course played very well and was fairly ball friendly with all of challenges in play.
Will play again at the right price!
The course was in excellent condition. Pin placements were extremely difficult which slowed play. Unfortunately the group ahead of kept going from a twosome to a fivesome with the group ahead of them. S
Best course in the area
Everything was excellent, the greens, fairways and tee boxes. Can’t wait to come back.
Good Course, getting ready to punch
Course was in great shape, but they were punching the practice green as I rolled up. They will be aerating the rest of the course Monday and Tuesday 6/6-6/7. Should be in fantastic shape when it heals.
Beautiful couse
Course was in decent condition. Greens were fast. TeE box were well kept, golf carts ran good. Course had no beer cart making rounds, that was disappointing. Would definitely return, in my opinion one of the nicest courses in melbourne.
Too many courses in the area to be mismanaged as bad as this place is!
After a drag of a front nine on a hot day due to slow play (a recurring theme in the reviews), our group stopped at the turn briefly for water (5 mins tops). As we approached the 10th tee we get greeted by two groups stretching on the tee box in front of us who we haven’t seen all day. One of which is walking. Clearly, these guys were either told to hop on 10 or took it upon themselves to do so!
Now our 5+ hour round was going to turn into a 6 hour round while we wait 25 mins to continue our round? I don’t think so!
After signaling to the pseudo “starter” (aka cart guy) and alerting him to what’s going on and him having a conversation with one of the groups ahead of us, to which nothing changed, we were done. I appreciate Robin in the pro shop for doing the right thing and giving us a full refund, but after driving 2 hours each way to play this course when FL is littered with better tracks…. Never again will I step foot on this property. I suggest you take your money elsewhere as well - plenty of good tracks nearby that know how to manage classless golfers who hop out in front of others.
Great Course. Terrible pace of play.
Nice course. Good layout and generally good condition. Greens had patches of fungus or some other problem. The marshal allowed foursomes to split into twosomes. This resulted in horrible pace of play with 4 groups waiting on the last par 3. I loved this course, but they need to stick to the planned groupings to prevent pace of play issues. I quit after 16 holes. Too bad.
Love Viera and Duran GC was superb
Wife and I have been looking forward to playing so we took advantage of Golf Pass and Sunday afternoon play. Course was excellent and nice challenge with beautiful weather. Paired with experienced player who was excellent and very helpful to navigate course. Thanks Paul.
Disappointed at Duran
Something has happened to the greens in the past year. They were quite beat up. Last year they were in much nicer condition. We were disappointed as we had looked forward to playing Duran this year.
The course layout is good with challenging holes.
The fairways and greens are full of ruff spots with little or no grass. The putting surface has plenty of ruff spots.
