Duran Golf Club - Championship Course
About
Duran Golf Club is a local favorite, known for being the best public course in Brevard County. The club is also home to the area's only lighted nine-hole, par-3 course. The course stretches across fertile terrain that was formerly a sod farm, lending some of the lushest playing surfaces on Florida's east coast. The championship layout has a links feel with subtle mounding that frames large, undulating greens. The beautiful landscape comes into play throughout the golf course. Sparkling lakes and ponds, lush grasses, and stately palms all add to the beauty and challenge of the round. Coastal breezes come into play on several holes thanks to the seaside location. Duran Golf Club's practice facility is almost as popular as the 18-hole course. In addition to the par-3 course, there is also a large driving range with mounded areas where you can practice with uphill and downhill lies.

Disappointing, pace of play was 6-hours+ Charged more $$$ at Course
After booking on GolfNow, and using 3 of my promo credits, the course charged an expenditure.
This made my round for a sub-par golf course over $100.00 USD. I would advise you not to play Duran Golf Club in Florida. Way too much play, 3 or 4 groups on every hole. Golfnow, please do a better job of explaining fees paid to courses in the future?
If at all possible, return my rewards could Golfnow Rewards, due to them never being applied to the course fee.
What happened to the greens?
Played this course for the first time in several months could not believe the conditions the greens were uncuttable completely wiped out large sections of them can't believe they're still charging the prices they are charging when the course is in this bad of condition
Slow play
Very slow play we often had 3 groups on holes. Pins were set up ridiculously. Tees need work and greens are not the best.
What happened to Duran
I have played Duran multiple times. But not for the last couple months. Not sure what happened, but the greens are bumpy, slow and many were is very poor shape. Tee boxes need time to fill in. Is it overplayed? Not sure but it will be awhile before I pay their rates to play an average course.
Great course - worth the trip
My wife & I selected someplace we had never played to try something different on my birthday. We were greeted by friendly staff. The ladies in the proshop were extremely friendly. We had a 1020 tee time, but upon coming back from the driving range the starter got up paired up with 2 others and we went off 10 minutes early. The course was in our opinion excellent shape. The 2 gentlemen we played with said the course was on the mend. There were a few greens that had sandy spots but all over by the collar and nowhere near the pin placements. The greens were a bit slower than they looked, but they had plenty of roll, the pace was consistent from 1 to 18. The final 3 holes really make the course. 18 especially as it demands not only a good drive but a mid - to long 2nd shot with water coming in to play on both swings. If you havent been to Duran and are near Cocoa or Viera it is a good course. We will be back
3pm tee time
Tee off at 3pm. Wait to tee off on every single hole. We bringing it in at dark, there's 8 golfers in group on 18. No wonder it was so slow all day
Pace of play very slow
Generally I enjoy playing this course, but the last few times have been a grind due to slow play. This course is supposed to be one one the better venues to play in Brevard County. It could be too, if they could maintain a reasonable pace of play.
This time of year is a very busy time of year for Central Florida. It is understood that golf courses try to put out as many golfers as possible during this time in order to make their profit margins as high as possible.
That being said, It would seem that management would ensure that pace of play would be monitored closely in order to make each round as enjoyable as possible for all golfers. Having starters and rangers enforcing pace of play would go a long way in doing just that, as well as making revenues for the course more efficient.
5 hours to complete 13 holes on a Tuesday is ridiculous by any standard. I won't be back any time soon.
Something is going wrong with the course conditions
Normally you can count on Duran to have the best conditions around, but something is going bad here. Many of the greens have a lot of bare spots, and some of the fairways appear to have problems here and there as well. Where there aren't bare spots on the greens, there are remnants of old pitch marks, and still plenty of other fresh ones that no one seems to want to clean up. Greens are extremely bumpy. I played on a hot deal for $50 at 12:30pm on a Saturday, but based on the conditions, that was too much. Right now, it's about a $30 experience. Please water the greens and let them heal. Also, have your starter emphasize cleaning up ball marks! I played 18 at Baytree the same day, and it was in far better condition for about the same money.
Far from duffer
Played last year and was nice. Greens super slow and being lost, bear patches around edges, and bumpy, course needs help, Used to be the best around. Not worth the money. No ranger to speed things up. Crowed.
Poor scheduling of tee times
We had a 1:02pm tee time for 18 and did not start golfing until 2:15. They explained they had a shotgun start at 9am for 80 players, however, this did not end on time. Also slow playing. We won’t be returning.
